My Ds And I Just Saw The Commercial For The New Monsters Inc Ride In Dl On The Disney Chanel And He Wants To Go-too Far!!
Does Anyone Know If They Will Be Adding This Ride At Wdw?
Thanks!

Well they are closing Timekeeper.....maybe.....

When we saw the movie for the first time in the theatre, the first thing I said when we came out was that the "doors" scene at the factory-looking warehouse place was going to be a ride at Disney World.

It doesn't appear that the doors scene is the new ride verbatim but maybe it's at least a part of it! :rotfl:

Oh, you mean like the "Cave of Wonders" magic carpet scene* from Aladdin... that has YET to make it to the "Dark Ride" arena? ;)

Disney has not been keeping up with its ride/movie tie-ins very well.

*Extra points for them to have Donald on a flying carpet in "Mickey's Philharmagic".
(Its a GREAT scene, but its not a true "dark ride" situation.)

My thoughts exactly, I've always thought that Monsters Inc. would make a great mild but wild ride at MK or even MGM. I hope it comes it WDW too.

I would expect it to show up at MGM rather than Tomorrowland.

I would have thought the door scene in the movie would have made a great ride on the order of a ride similar to Peter Pan aka a suspension ride where you "ride" a door hanging through the factory.

Ya know, I was just wondering why they never made a Monsters Inc. ride - guess I was wrong. I hope they eventually bring it to WDW.

I'm a sucker for dark rides and Monster's is one of the best new attractions Disney has put in. I just rode it today ; ) LOVE IT! I hope they put another dark ride in at WDW that lives up to Monsters...great stuff.

Oh, when my DD4 saw that commercial she said she didn't want to go on that ride :rotfl: But then again this is coming from a child who is still afraid of The Mouse and all the characters :scratchin

My 4 yo DD saw that ride preview on the WDW Christmas Parade, and she is still talking about riding "that Monsters" ride. I don't see us going to Disneyland anytime soon, so I hope they bring it to WDW.

I wish they would have more rides to go with the movies too. The kids really relate to them, and it's fun to "live" the moies! :thumbsup2

This is one of the few movies Disney has made I haven't seen the whole thing of but the doors scene in the ride is really neat! In fact the whole ride is. We rode it two weeks ago, only once, being a new ride the lines were intense. I wish they would put one in at WDW since we go there more often now than Disneyland. And hopefully if they do put a Monsters ride at WDW, it will have fastpass unlike DCA's. Just had to add that it was pretty cool!

That would be neat if they did make a Monsters Inc ride. sure hope they do. I love that movie. Boo is so cute and I love the relationship Sully had built with her. they are so cute together. :goodvibes

You know, it does seem that Disney "tries" things out at other parks before bringing them to WDW. I.E. Soaring; Pooh's Honey Pots; Pooh's Thoughtful Place; Lights, Action, Motorcars; Fantasmic; Etc.. At least the successful attractions find their way from other Disney parks to WDW. (Maybe Pooh's Honey Pots were at WDW first.)

I second that, dd loves the Disney movies, we do to, so what a bette way to get kids and parents to love WDW even more than to bring the big screen to the parks.

:sulley: Ok, I am so excited about this ride!!! We won't be in either place for a long time :( Some one please tell us all about the ride---what's it like from beginning to end????? :sulley:

Its a very cute dark ride. You board taxi cars and then go through various scenes of the movie. The door scene and the Chinese Restaurant scene come to my mind. Since I hadn't seen all of the movie when I rode it a couple of weeks ago it wasn't as clear to me so I can't describe in as much detail as you probably want! I would post your question over on the Disneyland side of disboards. They have a lot of locals who visit frequently and have probably ridden it enough to really give you a detailed description. Its only been open a little over a month.

Heard a rumor that a Monster's Inc ride may be built in MGM where The Hunchback of Notre Dame used to play...
