When we rode Monsters Inc last week at the end of the ride there is a large monster woman who said "lady in the second row that's a cute monster you have there"...or something similar. We never had the opportunity to re-ride and are wondering if that is something she says at the end of EVERY ride (HUGE coincidence!) or if it changes every ride?
(I was sitting with DS in the second row of the taxi while DH and DD rode in the front!)

It was a cute ride BTW but needs a fastpass! :thumbsup2

yeah, i heard that roz is an interactive feature of the ride. I'm not sure though. but thats really cool that she talked to you. coinsidence, or not?

btw: when we rode it, she said

"I hope you all have your paper-work filed out. I'll see you soon"

Roz! Thanks...I couldn't remember her name!

If she is interactive that is a neat little surprise at the end! We all looked at each other and back at her as though we expected her to say something else!

Although many times she is right on, she is not interactive. She just has a lot of different things she can say. When riding once, she said something about the man in the 2nd or 3rd row. There was no one but my son and I in the front, had the car to ourselves.

The first time I rode she said "Hey you, kid in the last row, glad you came (or something like that), but next time bring me a churro!". A boy of 8 or 9 was in the last row and we all laughed. The second time I rode, she said "Hey, you two girls in the middle row, are you twins or what?". I was in the second row with DD19 and boy did that make my day :cloud9:

I hope people keep posting things they hear Roz say! My family was trying to figure out if she could interact with us or not also!
The first time we rode, she told us to scream so my husband did a little scream. She then said "You call that a scream?" We laughed!
The second time we rode it she said "Hey Lady in the first row, I like your big ears!" and my 7 year old was in the first row wearing her golden Mickey ears! Very adaptable answers, I will agree...but fun to think there is some interaction by a CM going on there!
Anyone else? Please post! This is fun! :woohoo:

We've rode it several times and what she says does usually apply to someone in the car.

I don't remember everything she has said, but the last time we rode she told my sister "Hey young lady in the second row, love the glasses" and yes she was wearing glasses.

Our news channel (KTVU) just did a broadcast live from The Monster's Inc ride this morning! They interviewed the directer of Monster's Inc, and had him ride the ride. He stated that one of the fun parts of the ride was the way Roz "tailors" her comments to each car of riders. Hmmmmmmmmmm....

Can someone explain this ride to me? It is dark, scarry, etc? If you have to pick a ride that this was simular with, which would it be?

Thanks!

Do you guys think Roz is INTERMITTENTLY Interactive? (when a CM is available?) It seems too coincidental with some of these comments!

Radopt - Monsters Inc is likely classified as a "dark" ride although it is not as dark as Snow White or Peter Pan. You board a Monstropolis Taxi and ride through Monstropolis where a child has been reported on the loose. Basically you ride through an abbreviated movie plot -- including the locker room scene with Boo, the door scene trying to get Boo back to her bedroom and a "detox/cleansing" room. I'm sure that doesn't make any sense!

Last week my husband and I were in the second row and Roz said something like "Hey lady in the second row, better watch your husband, he winked at me." Interactive or coincidence, I don't know, but it was funny.

I was wondering if part of the time it might be interactive...and on auto pilot when a CM is not available. Anyway it will be fun to ride it again and hear what she says!

I only got to ride it once when I was there, but I'd say this one's probably most comparable to the Winnie the Pooh ride. Well done, and has some impressive parts, but probably not exactly an E-ticket ride.

We rode this past weekend, and boy did we all love it! We are HUGE fans of the movie, and were very excited for the ride.

Roz said different things each time we rode it. One time she told me I'd better watch out, because my husband winked at her! One time she told us to scream, and then said "Thanks for the contribution" with her laugh at the end.

Another thing I haven't seen mentioned! In the room with all of the doors, the holograms (or whatever the projections are!) on the doors change! We saw different monsters on the doors. Keep at eye out for it if you ride more than once.

Here's one that's hard to spot. When you enter the scene where Boo is hitting Randall on the head, one of the patterns he changes to is the Demon Eye Wallpaper from the Haunted Mansion. I saw it on my first time through (it was the only time I saw it), but a fellow Haunted Mansion fan got to see it and confirmed it for me.

Yes, Roz says different things depending on who is in the car.

My wife and I rode it with some friends on the first day of the soft opening. On our first ride, Roz commented on the lady with glasses (my wife). On our second ride, Roz commented on the man with glasses (our friend). The next day Roz commented (don't remember what she said) on the guy in the front (a stranger we were riding with).

It looks like there is some sort of control room near the end. We think there is a cast member in there who watches the cars and presses buttons for the appropriate recordings.

Thanks for posting about this ride! I CANNOT wait to ride it!!!

Great thread- thanks for posting all your 'Roz sayings' everyone. Can't wait to see what (if anything) we'll hear. We're big Monsters fans and are going for the first time this weekend.

I love the different scenes on the doors too! The first door we saw one scene(went by too fast) and on our second trip a monster offered us "yellow snow" and swore it was lemon flavored. :rotfl2:
