So after finishing season 1 of Monsters at Work, I have a theory where the series' storyline will end up. I think they will eventually end the series with what happens after Sully opens Boo's door that Mike re-built. (The ending of the Monster’s Inc. Movie)
The series takes place right after the scandal with Mr. Waternoose and the switch to laugh power instead of screams. Therefore, Boo’s door has been shredded and has not been rebuilt by Mike yet. So, I think the story of Mike re-building the door will play out within the next few seasons (or however long the series will run) in the background of the main plot.
Alternatively, they will run this series in order to make a proper “Monsters Inc. 2” to show us what happens after Sully opens Boo’s door again.
Anyone else have any thoughts on this or other theories? I would like to hear them!
