We are checking in Poly from January 10th-17th. I received an e-mail stating the Monorail may be on modified routes during our stay. Do you know how I can find out details? One of the main reasons we stay ay Poly is the convenience of the Monorail.:(

We got the same message in August and it didn't impact us at all. It had slightly modified hours due to maintenance work. I hope it is the same for you. Maybe look at Tikiman's Facebook page to see if he has more details on current work?

The monorail has been running on modified schedules for the last year or longer because of the installation of the automation system.

i would try the transportation forum, WDW info, or ask at the hotel when you get there. However, the hotel probably is the worst source. Hopefully, it won't affect you much.

Monorails only run until an hour after MK closing and no longer run for EMH. On Sunday and Monday's mornings The monorails open later in the morning due to extended maintenance hours in shop. On Wednesdays the express beam closes from 11am to about 6pm for maintenance as well leaving only resort and Epcot running. This has been the case for about the last 2 years. As long as you follow he monorail hours posted at your resort station you'll be fine. Have a great trip, and see you on the beam way!

Thanks for all the information! I feel better and will definitely checked posted hours as soon as we arrive. Happy to hear it didn't really impact others:)

By EMH, do you mean both AM and PM? Thanks

The idea of "modified routes" is amusing...

They haven't had a "modified" route in the history of rail

Yes. Resort usually comes up around 7am on the normal days expect for the delayed morning openings. And the beam way usually shuts down an hour after the MK closes to regular guests, and expect on the nights prior to the delayed openings. Again for more maintenance time that evening.

I'm pretty sure they meant modified monorail schedule rather than route.

You got it! Only modified route was about a year ago when they were doing ceiling work at the contemporary station.

When we stayed at the VGF and BLT this past June, the modified schedule certainly modified the route I took more often than I would have cared for. :rotfl2::rotfl::jumping1::lmao:

I just got that email too and came over here to see what was going on. We are staying at the Poly January 10th-15th and having the monorail is definitely one of the main reasons we are staying there. So am I understanding correctly that they are running? I'm not clear on what the difference is. I don't see anything on Tikiman's page about the monorail being down. Thank you!

OK I just called the resort. They said the only thing planned for next week is that the monorail will start a little later on Monday and Tuesday. At 8:30 instead of 7am. She acted like pretty much everything is fine with it.
Now just hoping to not have a construction view!!!

Just like I had stated above. The monorail opens late earlier days of the week and will close earlier the nights prior. Other than that the resort rail will come up about 7am every morning and close 1hr after MK closes to non resort (EMH) guests. The email is vague but it's basically just there to get you aware that the hours change from day to day. If you have any questions I've always found its best to just ask the resort or monorail cast.
