Monorail w/ Driver

Is it just at WDW where you can't ride in the front with the driver? When we were at Disneyland, either in October 2010 or December 2010 (I can't remember which of those 2 trips is was) we were able to ride in the front with the driver. I didnt even think about asking until we saw another family get out of the front with the driver when it pulled up?

I think its still allowed at Disney Land

It is still allowed in Disneyland. Their Monorail is different than the one in WDW.
