I am looking at all sorts of scenarios for a May trip and thought it might be fun to get a room with a monorail view. I like the idea of any of the three monorail resorts. Which room types/views would give us good monorail views? Do any have balconies/porches to view it from?

Thanks!

Well, the CR TPV tower rooms give a view of the entire monorail loop that is simply awesome!!! ALL these rooms have large balconies and the view from there is panoramic over the entire MK area. You see the MK, the monorail, the Poly, the GF, the boats - everything!! Best of all you can watch Wishes fireworks from your balcony in your jammies with your beverage of choice!!!

You can get monorail view rooms at the GF and at the Poly as well, but those tend to not look at much of anything else BUT the monorail. Still, for garden view rooms, they are pretty nifty views! The Poly and GF are really awesome resorts!

You simply can't go wrong with any of these three resorts. They are the three best in WDW, IMO!

Good luck!

well you just pretty much sold me for when I plan my next trip :)

I have requested a monorail view room when we are at the poly. We booked a standard view and my understanding is that the monorail view rooms full under this booking category (at least for the most part). I didnt put in any other requests, so hopefully it will be honored.

That does sound amazing!! I'm hoping someday that I'll be able to stay there - I think we would all love it. Unfortunately, that's not in the price range this trip.

Do most of the standard/garden views have a view of the monorail? Or, should I request a different room category?

Do you mean at the CR? If so, then no, most of the GW, GV rooms do not have a view of the monorail. The CR tower rooms that are Bay Lake view do not have a view of the monorail either.

If you mean the Poly or the GF, some standard/garden view rooms have a view of the monorail and some do not. I would put a view of the monorail as a request in order of its importance to you.

Sago Key rooms in the GF have some nice views of the monorail across a little bit of the lagoon. If you do request a room there, however, be sure to request a room furthest AWAY from the convention centre. There is an group of rooms near there that have an issue with hearing beeping noises from delivery trucks or what not. That can be disturbing, especially if you are a light sleeper and want to sleep in. At the end away from the Convention centre, the view of the monorail is quite nice, IMO. Some lagoon view rooms in the GF also have monorail views that are very nice.

In the Polynesian, some standard rooms in Rarotonga or Aotearoa have views of the monorail.

Good luck!

Thanks, that's exactly what I was looking for. I thought I read that CR GW rooms could see the monorail, but I guess I was mistaken. I will remember the tips for GF too.

Are any of the long houses at Poly better for a monorail glimpse?

No, sorry, that isn't quite what I meant. Most CR garden wing garden view rooms do not overlook the monorail, but there may well be some that do - I have never personally stayed in one, though. They certainly wouldn't have the type of view of the monorail that the tower rooms have. IIRC, you would probably see the monorail from the standard rooms (parking lot view) at the CR in the GW? Perhaps someone else has better information on this? Generally the GW rooms that I have stayed in have looked toward bay Lake or the pool - in other words, are looking directly away from the monorail.

The longhouses Rarotonga and Aotearoa have standard rooms with views of the monorail, I believe. You may or may not get a balcony at the Poly in these buildings. IIRC, the second floor does not have balconies.

Our GW room at CR didn't face the monorail, it faced the courtyard/toward the waterway that the boats use to get to FW and WL. The rooms across the hall faced toward the monorail and I would guess if you were on the top floor maybe you'd consider it a monorail view for a parking lot price. Not really a panoramic view but more of just that part of the monorail line.

Thank you. That is what I thought.

Thank you! I'm not trying to be difficult although it sounds that way. :)
