We will be staying at Port Orleans French Quarter. We have 10:05 reservations at 1900 Park Faire. We want to take the monorail at some point on our trip. So my plan is to head to Epcot and catch the monorail to the TTC and then from the TTC to the Floridian. Anyone know about how much time to allow? Trying to figure out whether we can get any park time in before our reservations.

Thanks

James

Just thinking. Take the bus to MK and then monorail to GF. If EPCOT open at 9 your not going to have much time if any at all.

Unless MK has EMH that morning you won't have any park time before you need to be at GF. I wouldn't recommend going to Epcot first. The monorail entrance is after the security bag check, which will have long lines that time of morning. Even taking the bus to MK and then hopping the monorail will be time consuming, since it will have to stop at both of the other resorts and the TTC first. You would want to arrive at the MK by 9:00 if you want to take the monorail ride. If you arrive there much later, take the resort launch.

Are you flying into Orlando International? If yes, you will have a short monorail ride from the part of the airport where the planes land to the main terminal.

I personally would not go out of my way to ride on the monorail at Disney World. In fact, I'm the opposite. I got stuck on one last year. When I looked out the window and realized how high up off the ground we were, and what the process would be like to be evacuated, I swore I would never ride on one again. Fortunately, we did not have to be evacuated.

A few observations....bag check at Epcot is after the monorail entrance...so you don't need to worry about that. And the tram at MCO isn't really going to be a substitute for the WDW monorail.

For an ADR at the GF at 10:05, you need to be at the podium by 10. That means you need to be at the monorail platform at the MK no later than 9:30...it takes close to 25 mins to get to the GF from MK, not including any possible wait times. At least, that has been my experience. That has you leaving POFQ no later than 8:45...if you have to wait for the MK bus, it could be up to 20 mins!! So, you need to leave your room by 8:30! There's the 90 mins Disney will tell you to plan on. Now...having said all this....you probably won't need all that time. But, better safe than sorry.
Going to Epcot is just to be time consuming. Out at the Epcot bus stop by 8:30, ride to Epcot. Walk to the monorail. Up the walkway to the monorail platform. Wait for the monorail to get there. Ride to TTC. Transfer to the Resort Line. Ride to GF. You could make it. If you decide to do that, you may want to leave POFQ earlier, just in case!!

Thanks for the replies. I was able to swap the ADR and that makes all the difference! We will be eating at 1900 on our final day after an EMH at MK...so that will work out much better.

That's not a monorail, it's a people mover. It runs on a concrete guideway wider than the vehicle, as opposed to straddling or being suspended from a beam.
