I have looked and searched for this information, and can't find a solid answer, so I beg your pardon for asking a question to which an answer must exist, SOMEWHERE.:scared:

That said, here goes:

  • On average, including wait times, how long should I expect it take to get from Epoct to the Magic Kingdom by Monorail, on a Wednesday in Late February?
  • Will we probably have to wait in long lines at the Epcot Station and TTC?
  • What's the travel time difference in taking the bus from the front of Epcot to the Magic Kingdom vs the Monorail?
  • What's the average wait between buses for Magic Kingdom and Epcot?
  • Is the experience of taking the Monorail worth sacrificing an extra 10, 15, 30 minutes spent in the park if the Bus is faster?
I get the sense that the Bus is faster, but the only time we were on the Monorail togetherwas for a fast trip from the Grand Floridian to the Magic Kingdom, and I would love for my wife and child to experience going through the Contemporary Resort, just like I did many many years ago.

If some DisWizard (or two) could provide informed opinions on these, I'd be most grateful! :worship:

I've only been able to take a bus from Epcot to MK/TTC when there was an issue with the monorail. Of course, there could now be a bus in place that I don't know of, for everyday use.
Saving said that....I would leave an hour to get to MK from Epcot. Figure a 10 min wait at Epcot, 15 mins to MK, 5-10 min wait for MK monorail. Then 10 mins to MK via the express monorail.
Now....you could have a much shorter time if you don't have to wait for the various monorail trains to get to you! 30 mins has been the shortest time I've had. The longest? 2.5 hrs! There was a huge issue with the monorail so buses had to be brought in.....hugely long wait times, both at Epcot and the TTC!

The actual moving time of the monorail from Epcot to the TTC is 6 minutes, almost exactly. Then you have to transfer to the express monorail at the TTC adding about 5 minutes. It's between 5 and 10 minutes to MK. And as pp says you need to add wait times which would be about 6-10 minutes at EPCOT and 5 minutes at the TTC. So plan at least 30 minutes and maybe more like 40.

There is no regular bus between Epcot and MK as the pp said and the only bus I've experiencec when there is a monorail breakdown has gone to the TTC.

There's no Bus? I'm very surprised at that, but I guess since there's a Monorail, it takes away the need. We have only stayed at the Beach Club and always took the Bus when going to MK, and I presumed every park had Bus Service to the other parks.

Thanks very much for the information!

Who knew! It always felt longer to me! Thanks for the correct timing!

The only time there would be a bus to MK from Epcot would be if there were to be an issue with the monorail. There is always transportation between the parks....could be by bus, monorail, or boat.
