Hello.

Got a little thing to ask for our upcoming trip/Honeymoon in December. We're staying at the Beach Club this time, which of course isn't a Monorail resort, but is kind of close to Epcot's Monorail station. I just wanted to know how the Monorail runs from Epcot to MK. Is there a train straight there, or are we going to need to "Transfer?" This is our second trip to WDW, but our first really using the Monorail.

The monorail from Epcot goes to the TTC (Ticket & Transfer Center) where you need to catch another monorail to the MK. You can catch an express that will take you directly to the park or one that will stop at the monorail resorts, or you can take the boat over to MK from the TTC. :)

You'll need to change monorails at the TTC to get to the MK. The Epcot train will just go back to Epcot.

The monorail station is at the main entrance to EPCOT. You'd have to walk (or take the boat) to the International Gateway, use an admission ticket (not an issue if you have a hopper or AP), walk through EPCOT to the main entrance, exit the park, board the monorail, at the TTC transfer to the monorail to the MK.

Alternately take the bus from the BC directly to the main gate of the MK.

Walking through EPCOT only makes sense if you want to ride an attraction, like TT on the way out. Also makes sense if you're leaving the MK early enough and you want to have dinner or watch Illuminations on your way back to your resort.

Hello.

We're staying at the Beach Club this time, which of course isn't a Monorail resort, but is kind of close to Epcot's Monorail station. I just wanted to know how the Monorail runs from Epcot to MK. Well that mildy stinks we have to change trains, but I'm still excited to take the Monorail this trip. We'll for sure use it on the days we are going to MK.

Very little busses this trip. I was just looking at our Hotel on Google maps. We're very nice located. Probably only going to be needing a bus to AK. Everything else will either be Walking, Monorail, or Boat. Neat!

unless time and your feet are not an issue for you, i'd STRONGLY encourage you to use the bus between BC and MK. first, you don't have to walk through an entire other park just to get the transportation. second, it goes right to the MK, not the TTC where you have to disembark one long ramp and walk back up another long ramp just to get to the MK.

it's simple enough (and probably a lot less time consuming) to take the bus to MK and then take the resort loop around if you want (or even the express if you just wanna ride it).

Make sure that the tickets you have allow you to enter more than one park per day (hopper or annual pass). You will need to enter Epcot to be able to get to the other side to get to the monorail.

I highly suggest just taking the bus to MK. Otherwise, you'll need to walk to the International Gateway, walk across the entire park to the opposite side, up the monorail ramp, then walk around the ramps at the TTC to get to the MK monorail.

While I can understand not wanting to have to depend on the buses at WDW, I have to side with those who recommend not taking the monorail from Epcot to MK. It will take you approximately 25 mins to walk to the monorail from BC...perhaps a little bit less if you're moving rapidly. I have done it in 20 mins but that was when the park was pretty empty on an EMH morning..nobody in WS to slow me down!
You would have to have either an AP or a park hopper in order to not use a day on your passes. Then, you would have to walk the 20+ mins from BC to the entrance of Epcot to get to the monorail. Then, perhaps a wait for the next car to come along. Then, when you get to TTC, you will have to get off, walk all the way down, and back up, to the resort or express monorail loop, then perhaps yet another wait for the next car. Then, if you take the resort loop, it will be another 15 or so minutes on the monorail before you get to MK. The express loop will be much quicker but not as much fun.

My suggestion? I would take the bus to MK from BC. Then, when you want to return to BC, you can always take the monorail back to Epcot and walk back then..if you want to take the time. Or, if you have a free hour or so, just ride the Epcot monorail from TTC to Epcot and back again. Otherwise, it will be very time consuming.

not to mention the obvious which didn't occur to me now.. you'd never make rope drop at MK considering the earliest you'd be leaving Epcot to get to MK is 9:30. the earliest you'd get to MK has to be at least 10:30 ? i'm guessing the TTC would be a MADHOUSE at that time too with everyone who drove in trying to get to MK.

Thanks for all the info.

I should probably clarify our situation. Park hoppers yes, so no problem there. The whole taking the Monorail thing was more for the experience than speed. We have 2 days for MK and only need to get there for Rope Drop for one of them to make me happy. But even on the second day we wanna get there as close to opening as possible. So the Monorail would not be able to get us there at opening?

Also, we are going at what I have read is like THE slowest time of the year, The first week of December. 1 to the 8th to be exact.

Maybe we will take the bus. We relied on them last year and did fine.

the bus will get you there by opening. i mentioned above how close the monorail plan would get you there.

as i also mentioned, there's nothing stopping you from going to MK for the day and taking a monorail break around the seven seas lagoon. or you can do the Epcot run too, I just wouldn't do everything in the morning. better you save that for less traveled times.

The only day during your trip it would even be theoretically possible to get from BC to MK via the monorail in time for MK's opening is Tuesday Dec. 4. On that day Epcot opens at 8 for MMH and MK opens at 9. And even then you'd spend most of that hour walking, waiting, and riding. Much better to ride the bus to get between BC and MK when time is of the essence. Save the MK-TTC-Epcot monorail journey for park-hopping.
