Monorail stopped during grad nite?

On another board I read but don't post to, I read a thread that, frankly, made no darn sense to me. The guy reported that during grad nite this year, all transporation that "touched' Magic Kingdom was shut down, including the monorail. He claimed that he and a number of other guests who were dining at the resort hotels ended up stranded and had to take a cab back to their resorts, which Disney ended up refunding due to "lack of communication" causing these issues.

Since we're planning a trip during grad nite and considering the CR, I just had to come ask me DIS peeps for better info.

Now maybe the way he worded it, it just doesn't scan for me. Perhaps what he meant to say was that no transportation STOPS at MK i.e. the resort loop still goes to all the monorail resorts and the TTC. Because if not, how in the heck would monorail resort guests get from Epcot back to their resort (unless transportation adds buses)? Can anyone with experience to this share what actually happens?

Thanks!

I read the same blog/post/thread and there are others that chimed in and basically said the same thing. Maybe you could just contact Disney and inquire as to how things are handled during that time :confused3, I know they are not always on the same page, but someone has to have some type of first hand knowledge regarding the situation. Hope you find what you are looking for.

I can not see the Resort Monorail being stopped on grad nite because it wouldn't make sense and is not fair to those guests staying at the Monorail Resorts if they want to use it for eating at the other locations or to just visit them.

My guess....technically during grad nite the MK is CLOSED, so there would be no transportation to or from the MK(the resort monorail would run but not stop at MK). Treat is as you would any other time the MK is closed, use another park or DTD as your transfer point.

Keeping the grads at MK is a big deal to Disney and the school chaperons, so Disney doesn't give the kids anyway to sneek out and go elsewhere. No buses or boats leave MK and the monorail will not stop at the MK, it will still stop at resorts and TTC and the Epcot line should still run(if Epcot is open)

On grad nights the MK closes early. The kids arrive after nine. No interference with the rest of WDW traffic.

When the MK closes early the resort monorail will stop at 11 p.m. Perhaps he was "Stranded" after 11?
