Any suggestions on getting from BW to the Contemp via monorail. We are doing Chef Mickey's but wanted to incorporate a monorail ride, so that we could get off and dine then hop back on. Where should we pick it up?? Walk to Epcot or TTS nearby??
Thanks,
Bonnie

What time of day?

You could certainly walk through Epcot, but you'll probably want to allow at least 15 minutes for the walk plus travel time on the monorail (don't forget you'll have to change trains at the TTC.)

You could take a bus to the MK and then hop on the Monorail.

If you'll have a car, you could drive to the TTC and then hop on the monorail.

Anyone think of others?

Think that's pretty much all their options;)

If you go to the MK though, it will be a VERY short ride on the way there as the CR is the first stop coming from MK -- it will be a slightly longer ride on the way back though.

Personnally, if you really want the monorail ride, I'd just leave enough time and walk thru Epcot and take the monorail from there and change trains and go to the CR. You'll get the longer ride that way and won't have to bother with driving.

JMO though.

Another option is to walk or take the boat to MGM and then a MK bus which will take you to the TTC. At the TTC you would hop the resort monorail not the express.

But almost all the options do depend on what time you're visiting Chef Mickey's.

If you will have a car, I would drive to the TTC and catch the monorail. The resort monorail runs from 7am to at least 11pm every day.

Unless it's important to ride before the meal, I'd suggest that you get to the CR for your meal in the most convenient manner, then take a loop or two around the resort monorail after dinner.

Resort.to-resort transportation is the weakest area of WDW Transportation - adding a monorail ride before the meal means you'll need to leave quite a bit earlier for your meal....

Just a thought, but keep in mind that if you are going to walk through Epcot, park admission will be required. Depending upon what type of passes/Hoppers you have, this may, or may not be a big deal.

Have fun!....

The MK bus takes you to the MK - NOT to the TCC.

So you can take the monorail from the MK to Contemporary. But it's a very short ride.............

Have to disagree with you here which is a first because I always nod as I read your posts.::yes::

Park to park buses go to the TTC. We occasionally take a bus from MGM to the TTC on our way back to the Polynesian if our family splits up at the AK or MGM.

Resort to park buses do indeed go straight to the entrance to the MK.

I can't believe it has taken so long for me to reply. Thank you for all the information.
We are heading to Chef Mickey's for an 11:20 PS. Thought we could have breakfast, swim for a while then head out around 10:30. Is 50 mins enough time to do all this transfering?? Maybe we should just drive to the ttc and hope on board to the contemp then back, might be easier. How is parking normally?

Thanks:earsgirl:

I would walk through EPCOT to monorail then switch to MK monorail @ TTC (this can be time consuming, I always forget how big EPCOT is. ALso, when you get on the monorail, ask the attendant working if there is room in the front of the monorai with the driver (if time permits, wait for another monorail to do this). Our kids got to ride up front twice last week, they really liked it.

Why not park at the Polynesian then hop on the monorail and do the loop? You could visit that hotel for a while as well, plus get the best of the ride.
