monorail replica set

hi. i was reading on aWDW thread about cool toys and came across a posting that there is a monorail train set sold there. is it sold at disneyland? how much is it? what does it look like? my ds6 is so excited that it might be there. thank in advance.

This is a little off from what you want. When we were at WDW in February we bought a small remote control monorail from the Contemporary giftshop (I believe)! It was only 14.95. Our ds has had more fun with that little toy! It is very manouverable goes around tight corners even across carpet! It has great play value for a great price! I assume you can easily find the exact same toy at DL!

Yes they do have a monorail playset for kids for $55 or so. It is definitely not over $100 as we bought one for our kids. The track is bigger than our coffee table and the monorail runs on a battery forward or backward. Mickey and his friends are the characters that come with it but we took that away from our boys as the pieces were too small. They also sell the train set for kids for $65. They still do sell both at the park and outside in DTD at World of Disney Store.

I know what you mean. When we were there in 05,my youngest son and I saw the Monorail @ World of Disney store,and grinned @ each other. After I 'pryed' my wallet out my pocket(with a crow bar) ,1/2hr later we were playing with it in the hotel room.

Is the track for the monorail long enough to put around your Christmas tree? I've seen one in a picture once that was put around their Christmas tree, similar to putting a train set around your tree.

The track is oval shaped,so it would fit. Unless it's a HUGH tree.
