Monorail question

Is there a monorail that runs directly from the MK to the resorts, or do you have to go to TTC?
We're staying at CBR, and I want to book breakfast at the GF Cafe one morning. We'll catch the bus to MK, and then monorail to GF. But does that mean we do the express monorail to the TTC and then switch to a resort monorail, or is there a resort monorail that leaves straight from the MK?

Oh, how very prompt! (LOL!)
Thank you, disneysteve! Just what I wanted to hear.

As a follow-up question ( for anyone), if we have a 9:00am breakfast ADR at the GF Cafe, about how early should we be at the bus stop at CBR waiting for a MK bus?

8:10am

When you board the MK bus at your resort, tell the driver that you are headed to GF for breakfast. The driver may very likely drive you directly to the GF before or after the MK stop.

If the driver can't take you to GF, get off the bus at MK and walk over to the MK boat dock (#2 West on the map below) and take the shuttle boat directly to GF.

I would take bus to TTC and take the resort monorail to GF. Depending on your time you could also take bus to MK and take the boat to GF (might be a nice thing to try if there's time) but only if the res isn't too early in the morning. From CBR and since you have to make switches i would give yourself 45min-1hr. Doesn't hurt being early, you can just tour the hotel if early.

The buses run about every 15 minutes, about a 15 minute bus ride, getting into the Transportation area, monorail ride, 10 minutes. I would give yourself an hour travel time to be safe. Be safe then sorry.

Just to be clear, (and I'm not sure exactly of your meaning)
the bus to MK does not stop at the "Transportation area" (TTC.)
It stops near the MK gates.

Okay, I was thinking 7:00! LOL!
I should add, this is Easter Sunday I'm considering. I don't know if that makes a difference. The warnings of insane crowd levels have me worried that the buses and monorails will be packed to capacity and we'll be shut out waiting for the "next one" or something.

The boat ride looks like a nice idea! Maybe we'll do that. Would it be quicker or slower than the monorail?

Depends on the timing of both modes.

If the monorail leaves at the same time as the boat,
the boat will beat it easily.

But, the monorail will let you out at the building that houses your restaurant, and the boat will let you out at the GF dock which is a 5 minute walk, give or take, to the restaurant.

So, "speed" is not really the core issue.
The boat ride will be very nice, if the weather is pleasant.

Okay, so maybe we'll take the monorail there (so we don't waste time wandering through the GF), and the boat back to MK. After breakfast we want to explore a little anyway and see the chocolate Easter eggs on display. Then we can take the boat back and join the insanity at MK!
Thanks, Robo!

The boat from GF is not a good option if you want to save time.
It goes from GF to the Poly, stops to unload and load new guests, then heads back to MK.

The monorail, once boarded and underway, from GF to MK takes about 120-180 seconds.

That's why I suggested taking the boat going FROM the MK to the GF.

Ah! I see. We'll definitely leave the boat option open for getting TO the GF then. I've never been to the GF, so I'm excited to see it. Thanks for that map! Very helpful. I have to figure out where the chocolate Easter eggs will be in relation to the GF Cafe too.
Thanks again! It's still a long way off, but I'm so excited!

Going from MK to the GF - take the boat
Going from GF to MK - take the monorail

The resort monorail(inner loop) runs clockwise so from the GF to MK is one stop and 2 minutes - going from MK to the GF, the monorail makes stop at the CR, TTC and Poly before it gets to the GF which can take 10-15 minutes.
The boat runs counterclockwise, so it goes from MK to GF first - 2-3 minutes then onto the Poly and back to MK.
The express monorail(outer loop) only stops the the TTC and MK and it runs counterclockwise.

Okay! Boat to the GF, monorail back to the MK. Got it!
These are the tips that I'd never know without this board! Thanks so much!

One more monorail clarification:
To get from MK to Epcot do you have to go through the TTC? I'm thinking yes, but want to make sure.
