Monorail Question

I saw the new hours starting next week for monorail has the Epcot one not opening until 9 am. This might last through early Sep when we are there? (although I'm not sure). We are staying at BLT and have a 9:15 breakfast reservation at Askerhus so was obviously going to take the monorail. I don't see how would we possibly make a 9:15 am reservation now if the monorail doesn't open until 9? Should I try to make the reservation later or is there another way to get to Epcot from the Contemporary? Obviously monorail is the preferred way to get there.....thanks!

Thank you, I saw that thread. Unfortunately its all about MK (which we can walk to) and parking, neither of which affect us. Nothing about how to get to Epcot. Will ask on there too, though. thanks!

Disney has stated "additional buses and/or watercraft" will replace the monorails.

Since there's no waterway from TTC to Epcot, I think it's safe to assume buses will be running before 9 a.m.

If it's like past shutdowns, you will have to take a bus from CR to TTC, and another bus Epcot.

Another reasonable alternative is the boat to WL, and get the Epcot bus there. The boats from CR to WL start running at 6:45 am. Be aware that there is a 5 minute or so walk from the WL boat dock to the bus stop. Don't take the boat to FtW; the FtW bus depot is about a mile away from the boat dock.

What I've read says construction during the summer with no announced end date so there's no way of predicting what it will be like in September.

You could keep your current 9:15 reservation and hope construction is finished before your trip date. If not, your best option seems to be to take a taxi since you don't want to take the bus. It will probably be about $20 from CR to Epcot.

Another option is to make a later reservation. However, 10:00 would be better than 9:30. I don't know if the first monorail will depart the TTC at 9:00 or if that's the time it will arrive and start taking on passengers, but the ride to Epcot will take about 15 minutes. Add time to get through bag check, turnstiles, then walk to Akershus and it's unlikely you'll be there by 9:30.

Thanks PurpleFigment. I think I am just going to leave the reservation as is, and see what happens come September. It is not a reservation we absolutely need.
