Just wondering everyone's oppinion on how BLT will effect the monorail service. Then got to thinking - lots of folks talk about Poly or GF eventually adding DVC rooms- at what point does the monorail system get so overloaded it is no longer a benefit?
I'm not sure BLT will have much impact on the monorail. From looking at the video & maps, it looks like it'll be a longer walk to the monorail than to just walk to MK. Just my 2 cents![]()

300 Units at BLT?
Someone mentioned 60?

Keep in mind that BLT is replacing a wing of the contemporary. The net gain of people might not be that much. I haven't done the numbers, but there may actually be fewer potential people on site.![]()
Did you mean to type "Now to other parks? If you were going to a resort other than the Poly or GF (on the monorail) or VWL or FtW (boat), then I'd suggest walking to the MK bus station and just jumping on the bus there. It's an even shorter walk to the bus station than the MK entrance!! How convenient is that for resort hopping, LOL?I agree. If MK is your destination, then walking is going to get you there faster and less confined. If you walk to the monorail, then have to walk down the long monorail ramp at MK, you might as well just walk from your room at BLT. Now to other resorts, I assume you can take a bus. I'd hate to have to go to Epcot by monorail and take a bus from there if that's the plan.
If it gets too backed up, maybe they'll make it a FastPass attraction!!!
During peak hours, it's already like riding the subway in a major city, with standing room only. (And as CarolA points out, there is usually a rather peculiar smell in the cars as well) Since it's such a small track and they need to keep a certain distance between trains, there may not be much wiggle room for adding additional trains either without adding more "waiting for the monorail in front to move" delays.
But since DVC folks love walking everywhere (except down the hallways to their rooms) all they need to do is make walking paths from the Polynesian/GF to the MK and that should alleviate some of the congestion.

Is there not already the walkway around the 7 Seas Lagoon that Disney sold the named bricks on?
