Just a heads up for those who don't frequent the Theme Parks & Attractions board:

Monorail service is being discontinued for EMH, and late hours for the Resort Line are being eliminated. Disney says buses will be substituted.

Extended discussion HERE.

You have 60 minutes from the park's regular closing hour to walk to the gate, pick up your packages, stand on line, and finish your monorail ride.

At EPCOT this will include watching IllumiNations, walking back through World Showcase, through Future World, and catching that monorail all by 10 pm.

If you're traveling to CR, GF, or Poly be sure to add that time to your 60-minute limit of 10 pm. And if MK closed earlier than 9 pm that night, when you reach the TTC can take a bus or walk to your monorail ( ha - you wish) resort.

What about a late dinner at California Grill and you can see your room at GF from the restaurant? If it's later than 60 minutes past MK regular closing, you'll be taking a bus back to TCC and another bus to GF.

Visit the thread mentioned above for more info.

From the other thread:

...buses run from Epcot to monorail resorts, even when the monorail is running - we took a bus back from Epcot to the Contemporary this past April.

Nobody, on that thread, as of yet has commented on this statement.

SO, I am posting this comment to get a confirmation from those on the transportation board. Is the above a true statement when the monorails are running? or was Bicker smelling the "strange flowers" during the F&G festival ;)?

Disney deluxe transport at it's finest. Pay more, receive less.

Buses do not run to all parks. Try to get one from MK to the GF. What happens if it storms and they cannot run boats.

Another reason to avoid Disney "deluxe".

They run buses when storms prevent the boats from running. On our last trip, we stayed late at DHS for the final AI. Park was closed when show ended. Boats back to EPCOT resorts were not running due to lightening. We were sitting on boat at DHS dock, hoping storm would blow itself out. Disney brought buses to take us & other stranded guests back to the EPCOT resorts.

I'm sure that is what they will do for the monorail resorts whenever the boats do not run.

I have stayed at the GF, the Poly and the CR, at no time during those stays or at any time I've gone from EPCOT for an ADR at those resorts has there been a bus from EPCOT to those resorts.
We have always had to take the monorail from EPCOT, get off at the TTC and take the resort monorail.

Really. Just a few weeks ago posters were pointing out that when the monorail broke down Disney seemed unable to come up with buses for those resort guests. I would not assume they would have a lot of spare bus drivers around late in the evening.

I can back up what you are saying because during my many stays at the Contemporary and my one time staying at the Polynesian, when the Resort Monorail or Epcot Monorail was operating at 100% there was never a bus from the Monorail Resorts to Epcot.

Let me just clarify that when they say that the monorail will close 1 hour after park closing, this means that the last train will leave it's respective station AT one hour past closing. If there is a line, it will be cut at one hour after closing and everyone in line will be allowed on the trains as they were there prior to one past closing. However, I'm not sure what this means for those rare nights that Magic Kingdom closes at the same time or before Epcot. Would Monorail Resort Guests have to arrive at TTC before the resort monorail closes? Hmmm...
