Was on monorail green today, among others , to Epcot and it kept making a sound sort of like "air brakes" on a bus or big rig. I have never heard this before and this sound was not on any of the other monorails i was on today. Anyone know what it was>>??

Oh, no!

Sounds like an acute case of monobrakeleosis.

Otherwise known as "hissing disease."

Spread by intimate contact with multiple partiers.

I was there like one or two months ago and this same thing happened while we were going from the TTC to EPCOT. I am not sure of the color or anything but I remembered I made note of the sound. It was also going really, really, I mean really slow for some reason. Perhaps it is just getting old. I mean it is to be expected.

We took the monorail from Contemporary to TCC to turn around to MK after breakfast at Chef Mickey's and it stopped almost when we were at TCC, something about mechanical difficulties because it sounded really weird, guess maybe 5-10 minutes we sat there and then we took off again. Really weird sounds but they kept saying over the speakers that we would be moving again as soon as staff had looked at "something", our first morning after arrival too ;)

I'm not sure about the problems that the monorail has had but, I just had to respond to this. My 3 year old DS is in love with the Green Monorail. Don't ask me why, I don't know but, In January we were there and he insisted that he would only ride the Green Monorail. Well, obviously that wasn't alwasy possible. One night after spending all day in the Magic Kingdom we went to get on the monorail and the Pink one showed up. He protested but I'm bigger than him and I won in the end. But from the moment that we got on until we got off he wailed the entire time. Everyone in the car with us tried to help console him. They gave him candy, danced, sang, everything. We pulled into the CR and he started to calm down until he saw the passing monorail and it was light green. His screams got even louder!

Now on this trip, I was alone with my two kids and I tried to explain this phenomenon to my DH. We visited again in March for a short weekend and we thought for sure that DS would have forgotten his love of the Green Monorail. But, no. As soon as we got to the Monorail station we asked a CM if the Green monorail was running and they told us that it was in Maintenance and had been for some time. (this is why I have hijacked this thread, it seems that it has had on going problems). Anyway, we got on what ever color the monorail was and DH got to see a repeat of DS's breakdown. Before the end of the night we had bought DS a remote control monorail and he has been ok since!

We went back in June and the Green Monorail was running. We actually watched other monorails go by so that DS could ride the Green one. The CM's waiting with us were great and we were able to take pictures of DS with the monorail when it arrived. It's amazing what kids can get attached to!!

So, my point is, I really hope that they fix what ever is going on with the Green Monorail by the time we are back in the world for Christmas! It will always have a special place in our heart!

This is too funny. My son had the same meltdown when he was 5 but about the red monorail! We are heading to the world on Saturday and hope that now that he is 8 we wont have the same problem.

1) Definitely an abnormality.
2) Glad you survived to tell us about it.
3) Next time, don't risk it.
4) Pull the emergency cord and get off.

Maybe we should start a support group...
