Monorail Drink-A-Thon

i registered here just to be able to post to this thread :goodvibes ...
you guys are so great, i got lots of tips from here ... i'm leaving on monday for a week at WDW with my sister and another friend ... thanks to you guys, i've got lots of tips about where we should make sure to visit and what to avoid ... i just don't think we'll have enough time to get it all in, lol ...
just wanted to give my thanks and if i find anything i should let you experts know about, i'll stop in here when i get back ... :teeth:

damgi- One of best trips by far was the one we spent solely at the resorts! We finally got to do the actual monorail drink-a-thon (many times over) as well as the boardwalk drink-a-thon which is tons of fun thanks to jellyrolls. We spent the 4 nights eating fabulous dinners, playing games and relaxing in our room, watching the fireworks from our balcony wiht champagne, playing air hockey in the arcade :teeth:, hitting up the pool and jacuzzi at wild hours, and doing some resort hopping. It was such a great trip! If you're going with kids I wouldn't suggest no parks, but if its just adults (adults who have already experienced the parks) definitely do a no park trip! There is so much to do just around the resorts. If you get bored then check out pleasure island or downtown disney. :goodvibes

Pollito916- I asked for a white chocolate martini at Citricos and surprise! they made me one. It was also clear and amazing! I enjoyed it more than the ones made with the godiva liquer. All the cream and heaviness weighs me down, but this one was just perfect :goodvibes

O Boo! I used to love Corona and then switched to the light b/c I was watching the calories and now I find Corona to be a bit heavy for me!

That sounds like a chocolate cake shot. Totally clear. Totally chocolate cakey! sooooooooo yummy!

Oooh, I've never had it in a shot before. That sounds good. After a while the martini gets too sweet, and I *almost* couldn't finish it! It's always a good idea to chug your martinis when on a business trip for new employees!

That sounds really good too! I'm learning so much on this thread! And you're right about the cream. I just don't need the extra calories, either.

ooooooooo - a drink that tastes like chocolate cake??? sounds like heaven to me!!! :cloud9:

Minnie - Your chocolate martini is right up my ally! I, too, don't like the liquer/cream based ones. They are heavy and after a while start to have a really weird mouth feel for me. What is in your white chocolate martini, do you know?

Me too, I think we may have to have someone make us one of these at our drink-a-thon!

We have anyone else joining us yet?

My ears perk up at the words "martini" and "chocolate!" Yum!

Hello to megmeg, maine jen, pixiedust, nerdy and ahhhh, misterdisney, aidensmom, lynn(the thread originator...yay for you!) and welcome to pollito, dmagi and jamie! :cool1:

Where's my buddy, ctrabada?

I am getting my BWV/POFQ trip all planned out. I am soooo excited. I have never been to WDW for such a long period of time (7 nights!)

I'm here, WLL... I have been without internet for a week (I had to pack up my computer while they installed new floors in our house) but I'm back! I finally connected today but can't stay long cuz it's bedtime... I'll check back tomorrow.

hi lynn!! hi wll!!
this is all new to me - i've only been to the world once before and i wasn't legal yet, so i've got a lot of catching up to do, lol ...

Hi Cristy! Glad you are back online! Hope all is well with you! You have a trip coming up pretty soon, don't you?

Jamie-Hiya! :wave2: Ohhhh, you are gonna have SO MUCH fun. I wish i would have enjoyed WDW when I was your age (I am 37 now.) I never cared about WDW...and I was born and raised only 4 hours away! I thought WDW was only about theme pakrs, and I was never into rides and attractions. But now, I realize WDW is about resorts, restaurants and *ahem* lounges so I am loving "getting to know" WDW at this age! Plus, my DD (she is 6 1/2) is lucky to have WDW crazed parents!

Officially, no. There are still a ton of maybes.

Are we ready to set an exact starting time/place? Or should we wait a couple more weeks?

Lynn PMed me and seems to be recruiting some folks, too!

Only 36 days to go! :Pinkbounc
(Really, it's 37, but I don't include today, it already started!)

Probably should wait a couple more weeks if Lynn is recruiting.

she is a lucky little girl ... i'm so excited about going, i can only imagine what the excitement level would've been for me at that age :goodvibes ...
and i'm not THAT young, lol, only about 10 yrs behind you :teeth: ... my first trip, i was the only 20-yr old dork on the monorail jumping up and down at the sight of the castle :rotfl: ... i've been dying to get back for years now and finally convinced my sister to go with me ... i'm sure, the fact that we have planned to make plenty of time for :drinking1 has nothing to do with her eagerness to go :rotfl: ...
i'm just so excited, 2 more days of work, 4 more days til i get on the plane to fla  ...
there's so much to chose from, we have no idea where to start on our first night! ... we're staying in DTD (BWLBV) ... where do you guys suggest? ...

when plans are finalized for the 30th, i might decide to just make it up...we'll see how everything goes :3dglasses

lynn71092 - That's too bad. Once we have made firm plans, that may help others make up there mind. Aren't you staying at Pop? With all my plans changing, I'm staying there now, too! So if you want we can meet up and "bus pool" together so you won't get lost.

lynn71092 & Aidensmom - With all the changes in my plans and everything else, I am getting in a bit later - 10:25am. :teeth: I'd prefer early evening, but any time after 3:59pm is fine with me.

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! - That would be cool - the more the merrier!!

Cheers!

Well, I am still P.Oed that I will be missing out on the lush meet. Have one for me, ok?

Jamie-hmmmm...at DTD...well, even tho I had the worst dinner ever at Fulton's Crabhouse, DH and I both agreed we liked the lounge! I guess you will be hitting Pleasure Island, right?
