Monorail Drink-A-Thon

I am just now finalizing a rental of a DVC studio at BWV! I am so excited...this will be MY first time at F&W fest, also! Plus...my first time doing MNSSHP...which I just bought tix for today! Yippee!

Cyndi-Yes, since I only have one child, it is not quite as costly. I have never left her in for more that 3 hours, but she would love to stay there all night.

Did you know if you eat at Shula's or Blue Zoo, you can use their "Camp Dolphin" (Dolphin resort's kid club) complimentary for 2 hours? I think that is a great deal!

Sharing the drinks around the WS is definitely the way to go...although I didn't make it very far. It's not that I was getting drunk.. I was just getting very full. The pinacolada at the Poly was very filling, then a few beers on top of that...ugh! Not to mention the cheese plate we shared in France. Next time I think I'll stick with the light beers (my preference anyway) and maybe I can make it a little further!

And, the F&WF is awesome! We were there for the first time last year.

Cristy- Thanks! It looks very nice, but when it comes down to it, I just don't know if I can stay anywhere other than BCV's. I just l ove it sooo much.

:moped: heading over to page 9 to check report of F&W...

Disney so smart to have F&W and MNSSHP - something for the kids, something to draw me, and my parents!!!

By this time tomorrow we'll be hanging out in Epcot (with a drink in hand, no doubt!). :)

I'll have a drink for everyone! :drinking1 See you when we get back!

OMG. megmeg...I am consumed with jealousy! PLEASE duck into the Rose and Crown and have a drink there for me! Take some pics and post them!

eeyore-I know! I have never been in Oct and I am SOOOO excited! I will be there Oct 9-16th! That will be the longest I have EVER stayed at WDW!

WLL - Heck yeah I'll have a drink for you at the Rose & Crown! :) We *always* hit up R&C whenever we go to Epcot and we'll definitely be going there tomorrow before dinner at Alfredo's. As we speak the digital camera is charging up for lots of picture time. :) I can't believe this is your first time to F&WF too! You will love it!!!! I can't wait to hear your trip report when you get back. Silly question (and one that I should definitely know the answer to since I am a Floridian), but where is Weston? Just curious.

So you like Alfredo's? I have heard many mixed reviews.

Weston...just west of Ft Lauderdale. We became our own incorporated "city" only a few years ago. We are about 3.5 hours away from WDW! It seems Florida is full of small towns that I have never heard of!

Have fun!

We've actually never been to Alfredo's. Of the zillion times I've been to WDW I've never been....so we decided to give it a whirl this trip. I know it's gotten mixed reviews, but I figure there is always going to be a place that someone don't like that everyone loves and a place that someone does like that everyone dislikes.....dining is such a personal thing, you know? Plus, even if it sucks we have the fabulousness that is Jiko on Saturday, so that will more than make up for it. Hehe!

Oooh, is Weston anywhere near Mirimar? My SIL and BIL live in Mirimar?

You are 100% right...you just gotta try restaurants for yourself. We HATED Fulton's...I cannot say enough bad things about that place, but yet so many people dine there each and every trip.

YES!!! Just a few exits north (about 8 miles or so) north of Miramar! How funny! cristy (Ctrabada) is even closer to Miramar! Come visit...we can go out for a dirty martini!

1megmeg, have a drink at R&C for me too! My DH and I LOVE that place; it's a "must" stop for us at Epcot. BTW, I've eaten at Alfredo's a few times and it's hit or miss but, mostly, we've liked it. It's like every other place, I guess, where you might go on a bad day or on a great day. I personally like it though I don't go as often because we're trying to experience all the restaurants in WDW and because we think it's a little pricey for Italian food, ya know?

Anyway, I live in the city just north of Miramar, just one exit north on I-75.

Have fun!

WLL, it's too bad we won't be going to F&WF & MNSSHP at the same time... we're going the last weekend in Oct. Our daughters would probably love to have someone to play with!

Broward County Residents.....HOW ABOUT A MEET?? :confused3 That is, when we are not all LOTW at WDW!!! :teeth: I live in North Dade County, and KNOW where ALL you all live! ;) Maybe we could all meet at Sawgrass Mills mall. :confused3 Let me know, and Megmeg--have a beer for ME too! :teeth:

I've been suggesting a meet for a while but no one seems to take me up on it! I think ahhhhhhh lives in Miami too.

I am game! We could even meet at RFC at Sawgrass! Even though I am not crazy about that place (at WDW or sawgrass) it would add to the "DISmood!"

Cristy, you could bring your DDs, and they could play with mine in the play area which is visible from the bar area of RFC! Ooo...this is actually a great idea! I want ahhhh amd Nerdy Minnie to come, too!

Cristy...did you suggest a meet? On this thread? I don't remember...believe me, I am SO UP for drinking booze and talking about WDW!

Yea, I did suggest it a while back... I guess no one noticed :confused3
What is the RFC?

oh, and thanks for offering me another DD, but I think I'll just keep the one ;) he he he

I am so jealous! I am all the way up here in Tampa :sad2:

Megmeg - DH and I are going to try to share a drink in each country when we go in a couple of weeks. If you notice where the, um, largest drinks are, please let me know!

Rain Forest Cafe

Hi neighbor! <From Coconut Creek>

I'm very jealous of all you Floridians!! Way up here in NC, since we returned from WDW last Saturday it has been chilly and rainy. Doesn't help at all with the post-Disney blues!

the quickie sangria recipe for me is: 1 can of fruit cocktail, 1 bottle of red wine (some people use white, but I like red... cabernet, merlot, or whatever you have at hand), 1/2 bottle of sprite, 2 tbs sugar. I brought my own pitcher and mixed the fruit cocktail (including syrup), wine, sugar and sprite using a wooden spoon (which I also brought--don't know why but it has to be wood). At home, I like to slice my own fruit (orange and apples, pineapple if on hand) and I add a splash of orange juice and brandy.... gives it quite a kick and enhances the flavor.

:cool1:

THAT SOUNDS AWESOME!!!!

Now, my problem is: Do we bring a fifth of Rum and Tequila or a gallon and some red wine.

Decisions, decisions
:goodvibes
