Monorail Drink-A-Thon

OK, one question.... how the heck do you work out without spilling yer drink:rolleyes: Ctrabada..thanks for the help with the smilie lush.

ctrabada, thanks for the tips!

mac, dont get me wrong...we still love the parks...especially after a few drinks...one time we went up for a single day with a couple of friends...went in to mk and left during lunch, had a bunch of drinks (beyond lushtastic) and went back to the park. let me tell you, thunder mountain was never that hilarious...we were all just being silly and it was too fun. i have the pictures to prove it, but i dont think its a good idea to post them on here :p

anywho...food, drinks, and rides....hey thats what disney is all about.

gosh, i cant WAIT til december!!!

ahhhhhhhhhh!

I love the parks! And the shopping! But the older I get and the more times I've been there, the more important the food and drinks become!

I try to justify all the extra calories by walking around World Showcase and shopping A LOT! ;) Sure I'm spending money, but I'm working off all those lovely, fruity, tropical drinks. It makes perfect sense. Just like two negatives equal a positive. Drinking and shopping together neutralize the damaging effects of both!:p

Lisa,
no, you're not the only lush who also loves the parks... i love all of them (ok, maybe not ALL, I really do not care much for MGM, except for RnR and Star Wars weekends...). Every park holds something special for me and I love visiting them.

This year, my theme was "doing something different at WDW" because we have been passholders for so long and we visit so often. So, we have been trying things/rides/events/restaurants that we usually do not go to... and we've had so much fun! My DD7 has gone on Space Mountain, Thunder Mountain, Mission Space, Test Track and the latest was Haunted Mansion... I'm so proud of her! She moaned and cried and was scared before each ride, and then, the ride is over and she says "I want to do that again!."

We still do our regular things, like F&W (every year we do this and we manage to increase our tolerance more and more each hear... see? practice makes perfect! ;) ) but we want to experience more of what WDW offers... we're having a blast! That's why we became DVC members!

I have to agree with you ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! about the restaurants and of course the drinks being a GREAT part of disney! I mean I'm sure I would travel there if they didn't have that stuff, but probably not as often;)

I have a whole list of new restaurants to try out this trip, and now thanks to this loverly thread, many many new drinks too.

Oh I can't wait!!!!! This counter better start moving a lot faster!

Believe it or not but our DD has just started going on certail things. Well about 2 yrs ago. Maybe that's why I love it all over again. It's like seeing it with a new set of eyes. But I can see where you all live so close the restaurants would become more special. You just mentioned all her favorite rides

Anyway, we have our quirks, DH won't step foot in AK anymore (so DD & I go over and do the things we love) and we have to leave MK half day to of course have a swim & maybe a beer too.

But Epcot is and will always be my favorite. Gosh, it's going to be a long winter.

Your DH doesn't like AK??? I think it's my DH's favorite park! Either that one or Epcot. I am really torn b/w Epcot and AK... they both have things I love, but I lean more towards Epcot. My DH is an Engineer and though I'm now an Accountant, I have a degree in Biology... so, as you can see, we're both very scientific-oriented and Epcot appeals a lot to us. I love AK's beauty; it's so lush and tropical and I love walking it (except in the heat of course) and we can't go without going on the Kilimanjaro safari... it's our favorite! I'm trying to convince DD7 to go on Dinosaur... she just made the height requirement for Primeval Whirl and loved it! She's too scared (what a surprise) of Dinosaur but I'll keep trying.

MAC3...just take your DH to AK and sit him down at the Dawa Bar. He'll enjoy that! :)

Theres a whole thread about it in the technical support section. Just do a search for posting pictures. I tried to figure it out last night, got soooo close. But some of the directions didn't apply to me b/c i have a mac. At least thats why I think it didn't work!

To post a pix, first you must load it to a website, such as www.imagestation.com. Once you load it, click on your picture and then click the right button on your mouse; select Properties; in the "Address URL" section, just select everything using your mouse and copy.

When you are posting your message, above the text box you are typing there is a button called "IMG". Click on it and then paste the URL from your picture. Voila! it should work

I had to try several times before I got it right, but you can test it on the Tech Board by posting test messages until you get it right.

For some reason he feels as though the temp goes up 10 degrees when he enters AK. My DH sweats terribly standing still so he'd rather golf because that's so much more fun :bored: & much cooler.

Anyway as for Dawa Bar, in April my DD, her friend & I saw a really great show while we were sitting there cooling down. It's my favorite stop. I'll always to the sprint for the fast passes so I can stop.

If I'm not mistaken it's the only place in AK you can get alcoholic drinks. Does anyone know of any other place?

I remember having a beer in one of the counter service restaurants. Was it Pizzafari? Which ever one also sells McDonald hamburgers....I think.

Since this is the LOTW thread, you all would probably know best.

Is it a rule in all of the "world" that you can not buy more than 2 beers at a time (this happened to us numerous times in England at Epcot)? Or is this only an Epcot thing?

I've never been in there. Next time, I'll check the map first! On my way back from Dawa Bar I had at least a dozen people ask me where I got the beer.

ziggy-I am not sure about that. I know when we stay at WL and go to the quick service restuarant/food place (why is the name escaping me right now?) they have a rule about only 2 beers. So DH makes me get two, so he can I have four! (As previously stated...I do not care for beer.)

Ahhhhhh-Just want you to know we ate at Portobello's Yacht Club and we enjoyed it very much!

Cristy-I want to get more info on DVC. I do not understand how it is a "deal"...it just seems so expensive to me! Obviously there is something to it or no one would join, but I just don't understand the whole "points" thing.

At least at the Dawa Bar...the bartending CMs must actually see each person a drink is for. And that makes perfect sense, so that one person doesn't buy a bunch of drinks and distribute them to minors.
