Monorail Drink-A-Thon

Ive had Long Island Iced Teas at the Poly Bar, Boardwalk Inn Bar (the names escape me), Big River Brewery, and umm...Im pretty sure we had one at Jellyrolls.

I have to say the best one is definitely at the Boardwalk Inn bar, we had them comin for the whole time we were there!

HEYYYY - Dagny! I turned down that job so I'm about 90% sure I can get whatever time I want off for October. Are we talking first weekend of F&W Fest or the weekend before Columbus Day? I know, I know - there's PLENTY of time. Except that the 180 day window for ADRs opens up in 2 months. Woo Hoo!

So, something more pressing. I'm busy trying to plan my August b-day trip. Gonna splurge and go for a deluxe. Narrowed it down to Poly & CR. Which has the best pool bar???

Cheers!

OK guys, I need your help.
I've started 2 different threads on this and I'm not getting a lot of responses, so I'm counting on my Fellow LOTW to help me out. Who has the best Long Island Ice Tea at WDW? It could be the parks, the resorts, the restaurants, anywhere. What do you think?? :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1

I LOVE the ones at the Rose+Crown Pub at Epcot. They don't taste like the alcohol at all and are terrifically strong.

I'll have to try the ones at the Boardwalk, but the ones at the Pub have been my favorites so far.

And the Pub made me a black velvet last time we went, yay! Guinness+Strongbow, that was a good drink.

Jen - you turned down the job :( Bummer.

I don't have exact dates yet as the school calendar has not yet been released, but I am guessing that our fall break will be that first week of October.

Woo Hoo....

Dagny and Jennifer - we are planning for the first weekend of Food and Wine. I will most likely have to work the following weekend.

Hello LOTW'ers... I love to drink around the world!!

We're planniing on going again this year for F&W - we went last year for Columbus Day - first week in Oct, we're going (hopefully since the F&W dates havent been published) Last week in Sept first Sat in Oct - 2nd - and for our ADR's they are coming up THIS month!! :cool1: Just thought I'd point that out, fwiw...

for Sept 24 last Sunday in Sept) You can make your 180 Day Priority Seatings on

Make the monorail-a-thon on a Friday again and I'd probably still be able to get someone into PI...don't know though...I'm thinking about going to Hawaii in October...if I'm on the continent for the weekend, I'm for anything that will get me a north flight martini.

Right now, I'm looking at arriving late on the 5th and leaving on the 9th because it would only cost me one vacation day as we get Columbus Day off. Hopefully we can get something together because I will need it! My parents are tagging along this trip - long story. But I've already told them that I'm most nights I'll be taking off after dinner and they'll be on their own. My poor mother looked so scared when I said that. Last time my father took her out of the state on vacation, they ended up having to get dinner out of a vending machine because everything in the area was closed and it was only 6pm! I also have them convinced that to go to MNSSHP they have to dress up. LOL Thought that would scare them away, but it didn't work!

Cheers!

Hey guys, tried the LITs at Raglan Road last night and they're excellent - very strong and no alcohol taste, and no sour mix. I really think I don't like the ones with sour mix as much. Unfortunately they're a bit more than at the Pub in Epcot, $9. Ouch. Glad we were on the last GC from Clear Channel.

You know, that's the third time we've been and we really just can't get into it. There's a place here in Orlando that's a little closer called Fiddler's Green, and the food is better, cheaper, and they have a better selection of beers (25).

Hi Forever!

Thanks for the report...I rarely order LITs, but when I do, I also prefer no sour mix...blech!

I will have to try Raglan and see for myself, but I am making a mental note of "Fiddlers," even though I never cross WDW property lines when I am on vacation. I guess a lot of people are like me...when I go to WDW I do NOT leave property for anything! I mean, NOTHING! It doesn't even cross our minds. Funny, huh? So I will probaby suck it up and may too much for mediocre food and be happy. LOL. :teeth:

I was just thinking about this the other day. I always tell people that I don't keep going back just because it's Disney. Yeah, I enjoy Disney as much as the next person but it's not THE reason I keep going back. So, to back up my talk, I have decided that one day on my August trip, I'm going to grab a ride on a lynx bus and just ride around and <ack> see what's beyond the pixie dust gates.

Cheers!

Oooo! You are so brave! :bitelip: Report back and tell me what you discover "out there!"

LOL..I do have relatives in Orlando...so I do go to different parts of the city other times of the year. But when I get on WDW property I do not leave...and they know that. If they want to see us, they must travel to US (during our vacation.)

Hehe, you'll probably never make it to Fiddler's Green, then, since it's a good distance away from Disney. And I can imagine never leaving WDW property, it's not like Orlando is an incredibly cultural area

Not sure dates have been set, but my vacation dates have been approved. I'll be there in October from Wednesday 4 to Monday 9.

Cheers!

Anyone else??

What are the beers that are offered in the "beer flight" at Biergarten? Had this last time and loved one of the dark beers! Not really a dark beer drinker, but it was awesome! I know you can get it in a larger size, but I'm not sure which one it was! It was the sweeter, smoother of the 2 dark beers. Can anyone help?

I won't be able to do the second weekend in October because of my work schedule. If anyone wants to do the previous weekend though, I'd be happy to join you.
