We parked at DTD tonight and took Monorail over to DL. Right b4 pulling into the station the capt(I think) got on the PA and welcomed us and gave some parade info and greetings, but also mentions something like "The Monorail will be shutting down for 2 weeks so the new Monsters Inc ride in California Adventure can be painted". Seemed wierd that he gave so much info.

I checked my mousesavers newsletter and there is no mention of it closing and the Disneyland website dosnt either.

But just thought I would pass on what I heard incase some planned on riding it.

Eh, that stinks. We talked about this a couple of weeks ago when I first heard. and somebody asked at DL and they said at the time they were still going to run it, but not do the entire loop, just backtrack between DL and DTD avoiding the DCA section. Guess they are just shutting it down all together. We arrive on November 5 (the day after it SHOULD be done) and so hopefully, it will be back online then. But we know how construction schedules tend to run! We are staying at the DLH and one of the reasons that will be "convenient" is the use of the monorail. It will be a major bummer if we can't utilize that from time to time with our 5yo!!

I read that it has to do with safety for the workers on Monsters Inc and might not even take the full two weeks, but they were blocking out the full period just in case. Pretty soon however, we'll be losing the Monorail for an extended period as they completely rebuild the Tomorrowland station to accomodate the new Nemo ride in the lagoon.
