Hi! somewhere I've seen pictures from a balcony with a monorail/castle view from the WL. We'd like a full balcony, not one of the enclosed, but I was wondering if anyone knew the room number, details, etc. Was this a woods view/regular room, bunk beds, club level? Does anyone remember?

Someone tell me if I am wrong, but I don't think ANY of the rooms at WL have an MK/monorail view. Would be nice, though. Sorry.:sad1:

I recommend room 4016. It's a woods view bunkbed room. We had a huge opening in the trees where we could sit on the balcony and watch the castle change colors at night and had a pretty good view of the fireworks. We could see the tops of the lower fireworks and had a full view of the higher ones.

Here is a room map so you can see where 4016 is.

The rooms would be located in the North Wing either Standard View rooms located on floors 4, 5 or 6 floor or Woods View on the 4th or 5th floor these may give you the best chance of the view of the castle and monorail.

If you book Stabdard View request: 6th floor North Wing.

If you book Woods View request: 5th floor near elevator North Wing.

* The Wood View rooms locted on the 6th North Wing have the enclosed dormer balcony's.

We stayed at WL in 2005 and had room number 6020. It was a "woods view" room with bunk beds. We could see the castle, the fireworks at night, and the monorail!!! The railing was solid wood, no rails at the bottom. The other rooms which may have had a better view on our floor were 6018, 6016, and 6014, but our view was excellent!!!! I would definitely choose that room again if I could!!!

Good luck in your request....

Don't be dissapointed though....not many rooms like that:goodvibes
The lodge is awesome....have a great trip

Does the Woods View not have rooms on the 6th floor north wing? As you mentioned if you get a woods to request 5th floor north wing near elevator.

It looks on the map like room 6020 would be better than 6014 because you are further west and closer to the MK.

This is exciting news as we never know where to request rooms at the WL. Last time we got stuck at the END of the hallway for a woods view room. In room 4001. The view of the lake was very nice, however the walk down the hallway got old real quick and the boat horn at night was VERY LOUD!!!

That's incredible! I never knew those rooms existed! Thanks for all the tips!

We will be also staying at the WL in January with our 4 1/2 year old daughter and 2 1/2 year old son. We have booked a woods view with Bunk beds. This is a our first time staying at WDW.

I'd like to be able to request a room with a castle room... but also have a few questions.

1) I really want a balcony that has the rails at the bottom (Not solid), so does this mean I do not want to request anything on the 6th floor?

2) Has anyone ever given them a few room request numbers, just in case your first one is not available?

3) To those who have ask for specific rooms, have you always received that room?

4) Instead of requesting a specific room # has anyone ever just requested one with a view of the castle and received it?

4) Reading the above, it looks like room #4016 might a good one to request. Should I also assume that #5016 might have a castle view?

Thanks to everyone that has great information on WL. My daugther would be tickled pink if we had a view of the castle. I told her that we are going to Disney and going to stay there for a few nights. She thinks that means we are staying at the castle. I keep telling her no we are not, but maybe if we had a view of the castle that would be good enough. I can not wait for our trip!!

When you are on the monrail leaving the CR heading to the TTC you can see the WL so it only stands to reason that you can see the monorail from some of the rooms on that Northwest corner. There are a few rooms that are high enough to see through openings in trees to the MK. The trees are there to make us feel like we are in the middle of the woods, but yet if removed would make many more of the rooms on that corner of the lodge a better view of the MK. So the question is a remote feeling more important or the view of MK?

Actually I remembered where I saw it!

check it out!

I'd still like to know what type of room it is and whether it had a solid balcony.

it tells you - 5032 - but believe me this is NOT what you would see just looking out the window.

this is a telescoped (or whatever they call it) camera.

think there is a floor or two above 5th - it is only the top floor that has the enclose balcony.

The pictures are possible using a telephoto lens (like looking through binoculars), but don't think that you will be overlooking the castle, because it is actually quite some distance away.

thanks sometimes can remember all the names - other times.... :headache:

Time for a Reality Check! :rotfl: I agree with spiceycat! Unless you plan on standing on your balcony with a telephoto lens THIS is the MK view you'll actually have from a MK view room:

Look through the trees toward the left - the castle is in there:

Though the fireworks were still nice to watch:

Just don't want anyone to be disappointed

Darn those reality checks. Okay, maybe not worth worrying too much about. I had to scale back a little from the Poly, so maybe I was dreaming. Any view as long as it isn't dumpster will be fine. But maybe if it is slow we'll get upgraded or something. You can always hope!

I too wondered about that picture from AllEars. It must have been taken right after the WL was built, before the trees and vegetation filled in as it is today although some DISsers have reported that big storms over the years did improve the view from some rooms on this side by downing some tree tops.

We had these views (10/06) from our Old Faithful Club, Room 7046 on the Woodsview side. And yes, I had to use the full zoom capability on my camera!

In this one you can see the Polynesian in the distance.
