I apologize if I wasnt clear in my initial post. This is my familys first visit to WDW and my return to the World after many years. I thought it might be nice to check out the overall layout of the land and get our bearings by taking the monorail and WDW transit before our ADR at TRex. I was just trying to get some input. Thank you to those that have provided suggestions as I do not know how long Disney transportation will take.
The bus from the All Stars to MK, then the monorail to CR, then the bus to DTD is probably going to take over an hour all together. MK is probably about 8 miles or so from the All Stars, so you're going way out of your way.
If you're just looking to explore and have plenty of time, go ahead, it'll be fun. But if your flights are delayed, or otherwise don't have as much time as you thought you would before dinner, do your exploring after your ADR:
Go to the DTD bus depot and get on the first bus that arrives for GF, Poly or CR (the monorail resorts). Then you can ride the loop around, get off at MK, and catch a bus back to your resort from there.
Or, if you're still in the exploring mood when you reach MK, you can take a resort launch over to WL and FW, and check those out, too.
Actually, walking from MK to DTD in DL would take a very long time, since you would have to start in Florida and make your way all the way to California.

I was using MK to refer to the original park in California; now that there's 2 parks, I guess I tend to think of DL as referring to both (although I suppose when referring to both DLR would be the correct abbreviation.) I do assume though that you knew that I didn't really think that you could walk from MK in Florida to DTD in California.
