Hi, all!
I'm new to the DIS boards and was hoping you could help. My friend and I are going to Disney for Spring Break. :sunny: She hasn't been there since she was a little kid (we are 24 now!) and I wanted to show her the monorail, boat, etc. We are staying at the ASM resort, but have no problem going anywhere to experience the monorail, boat, etc. Any ideas? Thanks for all of your help! :jumping1:

Hi Lisa

If you haven't been there since you were kids then you definitely need to go to Magic Kingdom. After that walk over to the Contemporary and get on the monorail there. Nothing like getting on the Monorail right in a resort. :)

Before the monorail approaches try to get to the front of the line (or let people pass to get to the front of the line for the next Monorail). When it pulls up and the driver gets out, ask if there is room in the front (cockpit). There's room for 4-6 people (approx.) if it isn't already full. We did this with our DS3 in 2003 and it was awesome and what an amazing view too. The driver was really nice and gave us all "official" WDW monorail driver license cards.

Have fun,
Andy

You've got tons of options available to you. We also love to ride all the Disney transportation, even the bus! Take the bus to MK and from there you can take a boat to the Poly or GF. Hop on the monorail from there and get off at either the MK or the TTC. From the TTC you can hop on another monorail to Epcot. There is a boat ride from the Marketplace that will take you over to OKW or SSR. Just remember that you can get back to any resort from any park or from the Marketplace.

There is also a boat system that takes you from Epcot to the Boardwalk area resorts and to MGM. Get off at the Beach Club and have an ice cream at Beaches and Cream or a fun lunch at the Big River Brewery while you sit on the Boardwalk.

The only downside is you can spend lots of time riding the transportation system and it eats into your park time so try to plan ahead a little. Do some resort hopping if you have the time. It is fun to combine the boat rides, etc. with getting to see some of the beautifully themed resorts. Sounds like you have the heart and enthusiasm of a true Disney Worlder so I know you'll have a ball. Enjoy!
