Monorail announcement gone?

It was mentioned in another thread that the monorail announcement is gone and/or has been changed. Is this really true? Say it isn't so!

It's not true that it is gone. There have been some changes though. One being that Stitch's Great Escape is heavily promoted by the "announcer" as you are approaching the Magic Kingdom. Frankly, I think he's getting a bit talky.

We rode the monorail from Epcot to MK on 1/6 and there was no voice at all. Figured something might be broken, but now I'm wondering.

It just wouldn't be the same without that voice and "Por favoire, ....." (I know spelling may be WAY off but you know what I mean).

on our last trip this past november, we bought the talking monorail magnet which has 3 different sayings including the one in spanish. i love it!

That is one of my favorite parts of Disney World. It seems silly I know. But whenever we were planning a trip to Disney when I was a kid, my Mom would wake me up every morning reciting the monorail speech...HA!

Now I want to do it with my kids.

I was on the monorails the other day and they still made the announcement about the doors. They also talk about Stitch and other parks.

What exactly is supposed to be missing? I will take a ride today and do my research.

I bought my monorail magnet at the Main Street Emporium at the MK. I always know when my husband is in the refrigerator because he loves playing with it.

When we were there early last week I saw a couple with matching tee shirts. On the front it had the saying in English, and in Spanish on the back. too funny!

The monorail narration is still there. However, it is new narration with a new speaker...

Monorail announcements are alive and well. I just got back from the parks and I rode all 3 routes and only one monorail didn't play the door closing announcement.

There is a different announcer on the Epcot route than the one on the Magic Kingdom routes. The one on the Magic Kingdom monorails is newer.

It is still there but if you listen closely the person doing the voice over is different.
