Mono-Rail Villas

Contemporary
Northend (closest to MK) wing will be torn down and rebuilt as
a Villas Resort.
Mono-Rail access but not sure how.
Should start soon but that could mean after the SSV is complete.

I love this rumor and hope that it is true....a monorail DVC is probably the only chance I have of convincing DH of our NEED for more points!

What is your source? When you say villas, do you mean DVC Villas?

I think you would just walk to the main building for the monorail

I'd love to see this become a reality, too. I'm guessing every DVC owner and his brother jumps to buy points for this one.

when I was visiting the DVC sales office on BWV to see the SSR I asked the guide who was showing me the SSR models about this rumor - and he say that he hadn't heard anything.

but to his knowledge when they finish SSR - DVC will go back to Eagle Pines.

So who knows>>>>>

I would love this rumor to be true too - we will see shortly - how long before Shades of Green is finished in 2004??? - then if WDW will put up the money to redo the wings - or they let DVC have it.

oh he did say that SSR is selling like hotcakes and reminded that the $10 per point deal runs out on Oct 31.

I spoke with my gudie today. She said she knew nothing about this but would be first on line herself to buy if it were true (though she perfers they put it at Poly or GF). She also said Eagle Pines is next followed by more.

Yes, this will be DVC Villas.

You can take it as rumor if you wish. I have read many times people wishing they knew if there would be a mono-rail DVC. I thought I would post this after being told it was going to happen and in the works during our recent trip.

Just curious who told you? Not that it wouldn't be nice, but we've been told TONS of things on our visits to Disney, but mostly there's not much truth to them. Anyone who has ever had Keith as a Tiffany Towncar Driver or spoken to any Bus Driver CM can attest to this!

Having just stayed at AKL last week, I would absolutely Love to have a real DVC there. Love the animals, love the restaurants, love the design, love the pool... The distant location isn't the best, so I guess I'd still be in for a monorail DVC location (min 100 pts); but for my money, it is hard to beat AKL. Just my 2€

I guess I am one of the few that it not at all interested in the Contemporary. I don't like this hotel at all. Not I am not saying that I would never stay there in the next 30 some years, as I would like to try all DVC Resorts, but I would not stay there often.

I think this makes sense for a monorail DVC resort becase of the additional benefit of being able to easily walk to the MK. Contemporary is the closest monorail resort.

Naturally, many would be interested in the source of this information seeing as many rumors have come and gone.

Just tell me when to show up to sign the papers! My DH and I will be in line immediatly. If there is truth to this....watch out contemporary for you'll be sold out very quickly.

Don't think that most people will care about what the price is attached to this DVC villa. I know that i will mortgage the house to get in on this one!
