Monkee fans take note!

Today there is a 24 hour Monkees marathon on wbwc--don't even know where that station is, but you can access it on wbwc.com. Every hour is a different theme--for example I think they just said next hour is Peter Tork centered stuff, solo and with the group. I know there is a Micky Dolenz interview at 3PM. Try it if you're a fan---it's a must if you are a freak like I am! Wish I could just clear my schedule but I'm going to listen when I can.

I looooved the Monkees when I was a kid.... I remember when their show first came out against Gilligan's Island and how hard I worked to get my classmates to give them a chance.... yes, I'M THAT OLD!

I met Peter Tork a few years back when he came to be interviewed at my radio station. He was DRUNK AS A SKUNK and hitting on all the ladies in the lobby.... ugh....destroyed my memory of him.

I also was a Monkees fan many moons ago. I adored Davy. He was/still is so good looking. I loved to listen to him talk. Will have to see if I can find that.

Update...I won the EMail trivia contest during around 10:30--won two new books by Micky (my favorite ) and a Monkees calendar. Woo Hoo! Just wish I could listen more and not in these little spurts between eye dr., orthodontist, recital practice, etc.

when i was packing for our recent move i came across my 2nd grade, monkeey's thermos (back when they were made of metal)-it's rusty on the bottom but the photo is still clear as day. dd-looked at it and went "oh-i've seen them on tv land-did you buy that at the store when you went the other day"

i realy enjoyed the tv land series "inside tv land" episode that focused on davey jones-he appears to be so happy in his life, settled and truly enjoying his family & grandkids. he also appears to have taken his monkeey's earnings and invested them intelligently.
