I know this has been posted before, and answered (probably by Master "Dave",) but I am holding a parent/chaperone meeting this
Friday to familiarize the adults with our Troop's plans for the 3 day Wonder. No need to tell you how much I have printed and downloaded off this site and others like Dave's and Barb's, but the thing I am having the most trouble figuring out how to explain is that cash is not carried and spent on board. I know each girl and adult will have a card, but how to best utilize these and keep track of the spending? I have prepared many handouts with excersions, menues, maps, etc from all of you. I know that setting up these sites are mind-boggling, but just wanted you to know that they are VERY much appreciated!!! Can you help me explain the process of "no cash" spending? Thanks!!

Sure. :)

I assume that an adult will be with the girls in each stateroom (or at least a reservation must be set up that way). On the trip documents, there will be a charge authorization slip for the adult to complete, with the charge card to be used and the authorized users for each card.

If the girls are authorized to charge, they will be able to use their KTTW cards to purchase drinks, use the arcades, buy souvenirs, purchase photos, rent equipment on Castaway Cay, etc.

Each stateroom will receive a detailed break down on expenses at the end of the cruise, broken down by individuals on each card. You can use that to "settle up" if necessary.

Hope that helps! :)

Am I understanding correctly then, they will let you know by name who charged what? I was really trying to figure out how we could keep the kid's spending separate as they have saved up a lot of their own money. This would be great if it's the way it's done!

Yes, the spending is broken down by name. Whatever name is printed on the KTTW card that is used will have that charge appear next to it on your stateroom bill. :)

If the adult in each room does NOT want the girls to have charging privledges, then that can be noted also. The girls can EACH place a 'cash advanced' amount on their KTTWC -- they should then each keep track that they do not go over their spending limit. You can request a copy of their accounts at guest services at any time to review with them.

:)

Perfect! Perfect! I knew you guys would spell it out in human terms. I printed out your replys, ( DH wonders how I go through so much ink...) and will share them with the parents. Thanks so much!!!

I just wanted to let you know how great I think you are. My DD wanted to go camping and I am not up for that!!!!!!!! To take all those girls that are teenagers on this kind of trip is amazing.

I have a friend that is really involved in GS who is taking her troop to England next year- she just so happens to have been my GS leader when I was little!!

Kudos

Just wanted to say when DD15 went w/us 2/2000 we didn't want her to use her card so we revoked the priviliges. But, she was still able to do so. It turned out okay because she was w/the teen excursion on CC and couldn't use cash. We soon found out she had charged just a couple of things but since the bill was broke down she went to guest services and 'settled up' her account with her Disney Dollars. She was really excited and it showed responsibility.

My Mom and I went earlier this month. When I went to pay for all our charges, mine were listed first and then hers were listed under her name. Then a grand total of all charges. It sure made it easy to figure out whose bingo cards were whose :)

I'm confused. Do you necessarily need a credit card? DH & I don't use credit cards but we have cash. Is that an acceptable way to handle you KTTW account? How does it work with cash only?
:smooth:

Be careful with the internet computers, they do not check if anyone has charging authority -
All you have to do is input your name and it will charge your cabin. Had this happen to my granddaughter in December. She had no charge on her card, but was able to ring up $19 worth of internet charges.

YES you can pay your KTTWC with cash. But, if you choose to do this, they will only let you rack up around $400 or so for the room account and then cut off charging privledges until that amount is settled. You may want to put a lump sum up front on your account the day you board. This way, you don't have to worry about losing the money either. Go to guest services to handle the cash pmt on your account.

We used our KTTW and then paid it off with a check at the end of the cruise. No credit card was necessary.
