I need some advice. I am planning a srprise trip to WDW and UO in Sep. 2004. I have done the research and are going to stay at the Animal Kingdom Lodge on the conceirge level for 4 days then head o UO to stay at the Portofino Bay Hotel there. Our meals adn lodgeing is then covered and we will have $250 on credit at UO. That gives us about $125 per day to spend on extra snacks and souviners. Do you think this is enough? We will be doing Universal, all four parks at WDW, Kennedy Space Center, and Sea World. I would love some advice it will be just me and my Dh, so we are only lookingat 2 people. but I would love to be able to go all out for this trip.

Thank you for all your help.

I could envision having a very fine time on $125 a day if I weren't trying to my meals within that budget. Do you need a personal assistant for the trip? I could make myself available!;)

Have a wonderful time.

You may want to check the resorts board. I believe people have posted that the food in the conceirge isn't enough to cover all of your meals. Many people say it's just snack type items.

We are aloso getting the gold package to take care of our meals so everything is taken care of but I am not sure about the spending money.I am hoping that will be enough. See i can get more but that means I have to get a loan or tell my husband about it before I really want to. I am thinking that sould be good but I am not sure.

Unless you go completly nuts, that kind of spending money each day for two adults should be more than enough. Spend a little less than your daily budget one day and a little more another, but in the end that kind of spendable cash for each day would be more than enough for us.

You are going to have to buy alot of stuff to spend $250 a day. Using the Gold Plan you will be stuffed by all the food that plan gives you. I can't imagine spending $250 a day on snacks and souvenirs. How many items does one person really need with Mickey Mouse on it.

It also depends on how much alcohol you intend to consume; if you go out drinking every night it can get expensive fast.

I know you want to go all out on this trip, but in my research I've found a general consensus that staying in concierge at the WDW resorts and buying the gold plan is paying too much, especially since WDW treats every guest like a concierge guest. There simply isn't enough time in the day and room in your tummy to make the full price worthwhile. If you got a room with the view you want and committed to doing whatever activity you want and eating whatever you want, you'd probably end up spending less than going concierge/gold plan. Just charge everything to your room card and it will be just like being on the plan, without the pressure to eat and do everything to "get what you paid for."

Just my humble opinion, but I think you'll find that you could save enough to not worry about spending money for extras and snacks.

i concur with alvernon...that's alot of cash each day...I would love to have a budget like that after all of mmy food is paid for!
