They are happy to take American $. But they really don't want to take credit cards. Something about the fees they have to pay. We ended up going back on board our boat to get travelers checks to pay for our fishing charter.
I am sure for a variety of reasons the american dollar still rules.
But I am intrigued by your fishing charter. I am planning on doing the fishing excursion in Castaway cay, as a single (wife and DD's have no desire to go).
Isn't the American dollar worth more in Mexico? I know Mexican vacations used to be a good bargain for those traveling with American money. Does this rule apply to Cozumel and does the bank adjust your charge card bills to reflect the exchange rate?
that's a good thing to know, because I never carry a lot of cash, I use my credit card/ATM card for everything... Guess I'll have to get some traveler's checks instead.
