Money available on credit cards at check in?

We're leaving on our trip on Wed. (YAY!!!), and staying at ASMu and I'm wondering if something could be a problem.

I would like to use my debit card to pay for the remainder of my hotel costs while we're there, and to cover any deposit required by the hotel. However, when we check in, I'll only have about $290 over the balance of the hotel available on the card. Is that going to be a problem? Will they want to place a hold on a higher amount of money?

I don't want charging priveleges on my account, anyway.

This is a good question. My trip is already paid in full...we have gift cards/cash for spending money... I don't do credit cards. I don't know how much, if anything, I should have available on the debit for a hold.

If you have a package it will be paid 45 days before the trip no need to leave a debit card at all. If you have room only you will need to pay the balance you owe, but do not need to have charging after that.

We're room only, so I'll just pay the balance, and assume we'll be fine.

Just tell them you do not want to do any charging to the KTTW and they will not attempt to put any hold on your debit card. Your KTTW will say right on the front "not valid for charging".

We have used our debit card at WDW that last 3 trips...we have no problem with holds. We give them our debit card and use our KTTW cards for everything....this helps for tracking expenses.

They charge the full balance on your debit the day you check out. easy.

Don't even use the debit till we get home. I have not seen any extra holds once I am home.
