Im going to DPL at the end of March with my boyfriend for his birthday suprise. We will be going out for meals in the disney village for 3 nights and will also need to get lunch for 3 days (only once in the actual park).

Roughly with the euro being so bad at the moment how much will I need to take for the both of us. Also does anyone know where the best place to get euros is?

Thanks in advance :)

I'm doing kinda the same thing in March.

I have budgeted 15 euros per person per day for lunch in the park, 1 euros for drinks/snacks and then 25 euros per person for an evening meal.

You'll get a decent meal in Annettes, Cheyenne Buffet or Santa Fe Buffet for 20-25 euros. You'd also probably get a main meal and drink from most of the other restuarants in the Village.

Try either Magical Kingdom or DLP Food Guide for menu's and rough prices

If you are staying in a Hotel with Breakfat included, I would recommend, filling up on that, then you will only want a snack around the park.
Then stuff yourself for your evening meal!!!:cool1:

Depending on where you plan to eat in the Village, it might be worth buying hb vouchers if you are staying onsite. I too would recommend filling up on breakfast, light snack for lunch and big evening meal.:thumbsup2

Hi - I can't help with the dining question but I got 310 euros for £300.49p at Thomas Cook on monday - that was the best rate I could find anywhere - lot's of places were only offering 98 cents to the £ :sad2:

I've jut signed up with fairfx.com for a prepaid card US dollars but I know they do a euro card too, they tend to give better exchange rates then the high street banks. The card is £10 (but if you are a member of Quidco.com the cashback site you get a refund of £7.50). These cards are highly recomended on the Uk boards.

I would either do this of buy the half board meals vouchers :)

Update fairfx rate right now is 1.06 euros to the pound :thumbsup2

We are staying offsite in the Radisson so cant get HB. Also we wont have breakfast so what I was going to do is go to the shop by the train station and get some supplies of breakfast things and some snacks for during the day. I assume you can take your own food into the park?

So if we take around 300 euros this should be enough? Can you pay for things on card in restuarants? Is this an expensive way to do things?

Thanks for everyones comments so far. :)

You can pay by card but you card/bank may charge for the transaction. You need to check first. I think €300 will be enough, there is always McDonalds!

Im glad 300 euros will probably be enough, was expecting to have to spend way more than that. Think we will probably take a bit more as im sure we will end up having a few drinks at night.

Cant wait now. Im desperate to tell my boyfriend what ive got him for his birthday.

Thanks for giving me advice on where to get euros from. I usually get my foreign money from Marks and Spencers as I find that normally has good rates (or it did when we went to Florida in the summer). I just want to get as many euros as possible for my money.

Do you think the rates likely to get any better before we go in March or do you think we should get euros soon?

I think the way things are nobody know what is going to happen :sad2: I can't see then going up dramatically though, just watch the rates daily and go for it when they look good!! I managed to get mone for 1.22 at the end of November because I got them on a good day :)

No one really knows about the rate, one minute it climbs then it falls again. i don't think it will hurt to buy some now incase the rate does fall again. We always use M&S as they have always had the better rate.

You can save a bit of money on drink by buying them either in the station or pop along to Auchan at the Val' D'Europe shopping place.
