Monarch airways - upgrade?

Flying from glasgow to stanford in sept for 2 wks .Just wondering if anyone elso has done this with monarch? What should we expect? Is it worth upgrading to the plus or premium service?

We flew with them last year and found the standard plane accommodation fine, with an overhead tv easily visible. We looked at the premium seats and all of us thought they didn't look worth the extra cash. If it is the seat back tv you are after I would just buy a psp, a few umd films to watch and a spare battery.

Hi I flew monarch last aug (from Manchester)

We paid the upgrade and because I have a back condition I was on the medical seats @ the front. These were great as they had loads of room ( I had a letter from gp )
however quite a few passengers who were around us did not think the premium seats were worth the extra money.
( we also had an 11hr delay)

I think this is one of those very subjective subjects

Some will say yes, it's worth an extra £200 / £300 per person (or whatever it may be) whereas others will say that money would be much better spent on a nicer hotel / more shopping / fill in the blanks / etc

For my family of four, last time I looked at doing this it was an extra £1200 (on top of flights that had already cost £2500) so we gave it a miss

This is the 'normal' cabin

That was actually our flight back from FL on 13th May, there was only 17 people in the whole cabin. Plenty of room for us.
