MOMS- what to take INTO the parks LIST

My kids may be a bit older, (7 & 9) but they will carry their own disposable cameras, sunglasses, hats and a small water bottle. I'll have a good portion of other stuff. Son will also carry gameboy and games to entertain him in line.

Lots of good suggestions here! Thanks..kathy

In the interest of saving space and money...

We bring our room keys on lanyards, a water bottle, a waterproof sunscreen stick, a lipbalm, the car key, a cell phone and a tiny Sony digital camera about the size of a credit card. I carry a single fanny pack. We don't carry hand santizer because the parks have bathrooms with sinks and soap. On a warm day it's actually quite refreshing to wash your hands. We don't carry first aid supplies because every park has a First Aid Station.

We do travel with some of these items, but they remain in the rental car or the hotel room or the carry on bag because those are generally the places without first aid stations.

we leave in the Morning! Woo hoo! :Pinkbounc :yay:

a cover for the stroller if it rains (if using a stroller)
throw away self-stick placemats (sold at ToysRUs in packs of 12 or something and great if you have a baby or young toddler)

I thought of another thing: birth certificate (copy) ...for kids on the brink of turning 3. I know not everyone bothers with this, but I'm going to bring it for my 3rd son on our next trip. He'll turn 3 partway through the trip, so I'm bringing it in case any cm's need proof.

fan_of_small_world, you rock! Thanks for compiling the list! :thumbsup2

Have no idea if this works - read this tip elsewhere and will be trying it when we go next.
Instead of taking a towel, try a chamois to dry kids. It absorbs huge amount of water, rings out easily ready for next use and is tiny compared to a towel.

Makes sense

We went with our 3.5 year old. and I would say bring the least amount of things in as possiable. Honestly, I read these boards over and over again and I was ready to bring snacks, and the whole shabang in but instead i carried one small backpack..SMALL, and just put some bottled water and cameras inside, as well as snacks, i just carried my wallet inside my bag, and thats it. I was SO glad that I didn't pack more, we ended up buying stuff and then i was lugging that, plus if you are on dining plan snacks are so plentiful, you really don't need to worry about that at all.
Have fun!
