Moms to be Part 4

So has anyone used the belly band before? My pants are getting tight, but my maternaty clothes don't quiet fit yet. So let me know what you think of them. Thanks.

Well we told DD last night. We just got a cake and had it say "Congratulations Your a Big Sister To Be" - it took her a bit. She looked really confused and kept looking at my belly. But once she understood she could not stop talking about it. She woke me up at 3:30 this morning to talk about it some more. To say she is excited is an understatement. Seeing her excitement makes me realize how right the decision not to tell her last time was. I miscarried at 6 weeks, but didn't find out until my first appt at 10 weeks. We did tell her kind of early this time, but we've seen a nice strong heartbeat twice now and I just feel really good about this. I want her to be able to share in the excitement....and I really didn't want her to find out from someone else by accident. It probably is going to be a long 30-32 weeks for her though.

I'm glad it went so well!! :cloud9: I'm so happy for her.

Haha, it's a long 30-32 weeks for everyone involved. I wish I had a time machine!

I have the BeBand from Target and am wearing it now. It makes my pants MUCH more comfortable. As of now they still fit okay, just towards afternoon they start getting really uncomfortable as I start getting all bloaty. It's a good fix for that. I'm still working out regularly and hope to keep my weight gain to a minimum but my clothes are definitely starting to be uncomfortable by the end of the day. I think the Beband is great for those early changes.

woohoo!! That is so awesome that she is so excited!!

I went ahead and bought three new pairs of maternity shorts. DH told me not to worry about it, and that I should be comfortable.

I asked DH if he thought that, when we buy our next house, we could cook a meal and then cheack to see if the bedroom smelled, LOL.

Good for you for getting the shorts, comfort is really important while pregnant!

Lol at cooking a meal before buying a house! :rotfl2:

I was having a hard time with the mustard, and the darned plate flipped off the counter... OMG I cried. It was horrible. We only have 2 hotdogs left and we're out of mustard...

That is totally something I would cry over.

So my appt went just fine. My little blob now looks more like a teddy graham :rotfl:.

yay for your little teddy bear!

Maybe TMI, but does anyone else feel alot of downward pressure when they sit for long periods of time? It's not really painful, just uncomfortable

Not really, but I think getting up and walking around more frequently may help.

I had one of those today when I realized we were out of eggs, and I couldn't make a hardboiled egg. I called my poor husband sobbing and he couldn't figure out why lol. Luckily, he doesn't think I'm crazy lol.

Aww, I have about a dozen hardboiled eggs at my house from easter, if you were closer, you could have them!

Girls, I've gone off the deep end. Why, you ask? Because I'm actually considering a 3rd kid.

That's so exciting! You must be right that the pregnancy can't be too miserable if you are considering again while you're still pregnant! I haven't made up my mind yet. I think it depends on whether this child is as wild as DS. And whether it's a boy or girl. ;)

Well we told DD last night. To say she is excited is an understatement.

That's so great that your DD is so excited about having a baby! DS3 is taking it surprisingly well and is always talking about what he wants to buy for the baby.

I think we had a discussion about them a few pages ago, and the consensus seems to be that most of us like them, especially for the early stages of pregnancy when you are feeling bloated but are not big enough for maternity clothes.

***************
Telling older siblings reminds me of my SIL that I talked to last week. She has a DS3 and just had a DD last month. Her DS keeps asking where the baby's mommy is and when she is going home. Then SIL tells him that SHE is the baby's mommy, but he just shakes his head, and says "No. You are MY mommy. Where is the little boy's mommy?" For some reason he calls his baby sister "little boy" even though he has already asked his mom where her peni$ is. :lmao:

Not sure if I posted it here yet or not but I finally got my first beta results back from 14dpo. The level was at 74!!! :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: I'm going in this Thursday afternoon for another blood draw to make sure the level is rising as it should. Can't wait!

Awesome news! :cool1:

I ended up buying a bedding set at Kmart on clearance today. I couldn't make up my mind so I just bought it. It was only $29.99... and I liked it. So I was tempted by the great price!
It's not online anymore so I tried to take a picture...

I love that it's $130 cheaper than the other sets and that it's got the monkeys and giraffes. I can probably find matching monkeys/giraffes from other sets to decorate the rest of the room.

It's really soft and got a lot of texture... the edge and boat feel like cordoroy and most of the animals are plush.

At the end of the day, my decision was easy... I'm cheap!

That's cute Piecey - and a great price! :thumbsup2 We got a deal like that on the first bedding set for DS at Target.

Okay, I'm editing this back out but anyone who wants to what was here can feel free to PM me. :)

Ugh, Piecey, that situation is just weird. I'm not sure what I would do.

I had something normal but weird to me happen last night. Colustrum. Ok, maybe I'm weird, but ICK. I'm not ready for that. Just the little drop I saw made me question whether or not I'm as interested in breast feeding as I was. Stupid, right?

And for another gross TMI post...I thought my water broke yesterday. Turns out I had just been sitting for too long in a hot meeting room and was sweaty. Ew.

I wouldn't make any decisions about the BF'ing yet. You never know what'll happen-- it could be second nature, or you could totally hate it. Worst part is, every behbeh nurses differently! And well if you're grossed out by it, well, you're grossed out about it and that's that, what can ya do, right?

Haha about the sweatiness, it was a hot one here today too.

My news for the day: Went to new OBGYN... they somehow didn't know I was pregnant, they were apparently "confirming the pregnancy." Uhm, had that done in DECEMBER. Apparently my records *weren't* sent. UGH UGH UGH. I hope I don't get charged by my insurance because of this. Today was supposed to be my intake appt-- which now I have to wait until April 26th. And they scheduled my "big" u/s for Friday... I think I'm gonna reschedule that puppy until the little dude gets a little bigger. I already know he's a boy, so what's the rush, right? Somehow the Dr. thought I was 19 weeks, even after we discussed it and she "verified" on the wheel calculator thingie that I am indeed 18 weeks to the day. ::Sigh::

On a good note, Target was clearancing out the Pampers Swaddlers so I got some packs for $6 a pack because I had some $2 coupons. Woohoo! I stocked up on NB's and size 1's. Sweet! (DD was in NB's *forever* lol)

Hey, do any of you newer mommies (DD is an old fart at a whopping almost-3 year old!) have this little bugger? It's the Fisher-Price Ocean Wonders Deep Blue Sea Soother, the newest version? What do you think? We have the one from 3 years ago, and we loved it, but don't know if the newest one is as good. The one we have is kinda trashed, so we need a new one. http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3882066&007=Search&006=4046953350&005=25676790&004=511306770&002=2195185&moduleName=Brand+Name+Secondary&camp=PPC%3A204334008

We're keeping Owen, hope everyone has a great day!

Very cute - and you can't beat the price. I am actually considering not even buying a bedding set for this baby. It was such a waste with DD. Of course if it's a girl then I'll just use DD's again.

I don't think it's stupid at all. I did BF my DD and have every intention of BFing this baby too. But part of that is because I'm lazy. I never have to warm or prepare a bottle and those middle of the night feedings are much easier when it's always ready. Pumping at work isn't my favorite thing, but it's a necessary evil for the convenience otherwise. However, you make the best choice for you and your baby....do not let anyone make you feel bad whether you BF or Bottle feed.....and there's plenty of people out there who think there way is the only way....just ignore those guys!

Sammi is so cute. This morning I was leaving for work and told her I loved her and would see her later. She told me "Love you too....take good care of the baby today"

Awwww, that is SO cute about Sammi! :lovestruc

Oh, yeah, don't let anyone make you feel badly about your choice to BF or FF. It's YOUR choice, nobody else's!

Too funny about Politos - I wonder what kind of restaurant it is?

How frustrating about the due dates. I remember with DS the OB changed the due date by one day and I was annoyed by that, but probably over-reacting due to hormones.

I think it was an Italian or Mexican restaraunt. I thought maybe I saw a sign for pizza in the window which would make it Italian but I don't remember anymore LOL.

Due dates...I had my first Lamaze class last night and they asked what our due dates were and I said, "Either May 22 or June 5" and everyone just gave me the strangest look. I swear my face was fire engine red, I could feel the heat in my cheeks. So embarrassing!

So my appt went just fine. My little blob now looks more like a teddy graham :rotfl:. Heart rate was 178. I go back one more time in 10 days and then I think I'll be sent on to my OB. We have decided to go ahead and tell Sammi. I have felt even worse here lately because I keep telling her "mommy doesn't feel very good" and the difference in miscarriage statistically between now and 12 weeks isn't enough that I want to wait that much longer. So the big question now is HOW do we tell her. I have ordered a T-shirt for Tinkerbell to leave for her our first night in Disney in May that say "I'm going to be a big sister" so I don't want to do that. I was thinking maybe a cake? What do you guys think? Any suggestions. Sammi is 6 1/2 if that helps any.

YAY!

That bedding is really cute...especially for the price!

Well last night was my first Lamaze class, my mom was supposed to come with but decided yesterday that she didn't want to and that my best friend should go because my mom has had babies and my friend hasn't. Good logic...well that's what I thought until we got there and started the class. The teacher was very, um...enthusiastic is maybe the right word. We were laughing almost the whole time :lmao: Then we watched an animated video about effacing and dilating...that was amusing. And we watched a birth video that I swear was the same one we watched during the sex ed unit in 10th grade. Now my best friend and I have probably seen 10 birth videos due to various classes we took in HS so we were practically falling asleep while everyone else was cringing...that also made us laugh. I told my best friend that if I sound like I'm having the big O while in labor...to tell me to shut up, most of the videos we've watched the women have sounded like that and I'd prefer to scream instead of sound like that in front of my mom!

I'm finally starting to get more excited about this boy thing. I still can't help but look at the pink stuff, its just what I'm used to! I thought of a good theme today though, "surfer dude." I've seen a few bedding sets like that, but theyre all mucho mucho expensive. I guess I can get pieces though because we don't really use a bumper or a bedskirt, so that makes it easier. Phew. One thing off the list.

The other thing that's killing me is that I don't have a name for this little boy. I'm kinda digging Nate/Nathan (which would be weird because it ends in the same sound as our last name... ugh) or maybe Josh/Joshua. We like Luke and Logan, but there are already one of each in DH's extended family. It's not like we see them a lot, so I suppose it wouldn't be a big deal, but still. Darn them!! I wouldn't mind something a little "different" like Keoni or Taj... but I'm just clueless. At least I do have time, but still, this little guy needs a name.
