Moms to be Part 4

I think DH is just gonna get snipsnipped once we decide that this is going to be our only child. I'll probably use the ring (NuvaRing, I LOVE it) until he has the surgery.

Have any of you tried both the Bella band as well as the cheaper Be band version at Target? I'm trying to decide if the Bella band is better and worth the extra money. I'm only 5 weeks in but I'm bloated and most of my summer shorts won't close. Same thing happened with my first.

I can't speak to the actual Bella band, but I have the Be band, and I was fine with it. I even wore it at like 20 weeks for a while so that I could wear non-maternity pants to a Christmas party (I was in a mood). It was great when it was still warm here in September/October, and I wanted to keep wearing my capris to work. I'd recommend it.

I just had DH pick me up a BeBand yesterday. I'm only almost 8 weeks, but like you the bloating is killing me by the end of the day and my pants hurt. I'd rather go with that then accidentally flashing someone with my pants undone. I only wore it for about 6 hours last night, but it did seem to work.

Yay for Team Blue, Mrs. Charming!!! Now we can chat about our fears/concerns with raising a boy.....but it will be so much fun!! All my friends with boys say that the boys are so good to their moms :)

Haha yeah, I'm gonna definitely have some boy anxieties. DH says DD is a girl with a "boy" personality anyway, lol!!

My daughter is so far from calm. In fact, she tells me she is "rough and tumble." The funniest part is she has an angelic face and is a delicate looking as a princess.....boy are looks deceiving...haha...

I guess I am just hoping that my little guy will be my calm one. My mom tells me that I was exactly like DD and my brother, who is 2 years younger, was the perfect child. Calm, good sleeper, never argued or gave them any trouble....I just can't imagine TWO rough and tumble little ones

If this little boy is more hyper than my DD... I am in *trouble.* I hope he's calm!!

Still hangin in over here, been having a ton of back pain and more contractions than I'd like. I'm on pretty restricted bed rest now, I spend almost all day on the couch watching tv. I'm ok with that :). DH leaves work to bring me lunch, so that I don't get up and cook real food, which I would likely do. Aline is doing well, but I don't think she's too happy with me right now, I keep poking her when she kicks me, lol.

Ahhh bedrest, I know thee all too well. At least you have a good hubby to bring you lunch!

I have the PCOS also, as well as endometriosis. I know the feeling of being useless at that time of the month. The IUD is supposed to be a good choice for BC- no worrying about pills or anything, and I believe it lasts for up to 5 years. If you're not in a rush to have any more it might be a really good choice for you :) Talk to your doc BEFORE the baby arrives and have a game plan for afterwards- that's what I did this time around and it was much better to get the info/make the decisions now rather than at my 6 week checkup trying to figure everything out

Count me in on the PCOS/endo club! I had to get my endo burned away (and a few other "modifications") because if I didnt, I don't think I'd have gotten pregnant again!

Obsession with LOTR?? :lmao: My son is Luke, as I've mentioned before. Since before he was born, DH has been doing the whole "Luuuuke, I am your father" thing. :rotfl: Our Luke is also part of a set of boy/girl twins so DH has big dreams that some year I am going to feel like making elaborate Halloween costumes and make Luke & Leia for Luke & Lilly, Darth Vader for him, that chick with the weird hair for me, and our oldest gets to be, I think an Ewok. :lmao: He is completely serious that he thinks this is a great idea, so I hear you on dorky!

FWIW, I never would have thought of that from the initials ORK

We totally thought of the name Luke, specifically for Star Wars. I even said that if we do, I'd be OK with the middle name "Skywalker" LOL. It'll show up on most everything in his adult life as "S" anyway. Other than that we thought of Logan, aka Wolverine from X-men. HAHA.

Oh and the "chick" with the weird hair is Queen Amildala. She's Darth Vader's (secret) wife and Luke and Leia's babymomma. :thumbsup2

We're nerds. Ohh yess, some year, we're totally going to Star Wars Weekends!!

I'll be 23 next Wednesday. :scared1: And I'll eventually (say, August!) have 2 little ones. :scared1::scared1:

OMG!! You're one brave woman!! Oh and I feel like an old fart at 29! lol

Congrats!!! I know I am a little late with my welcome to you but I don't get on here as much as I'd like. DH and I were told we could not have children so we never allowed ourselves to dream about kids and now I'm pregnant - so exciting!

That. is. awesome. :lovestruc

I will be 38 when I have our first in October.....I am a bit worried about us being older parents....but we are happy for the blessing - even though we had to wait a long long time. We try not to think about how old we'll be when the baby graduates from high school and college, etc.

I think 38 is about the average age for moms where we live. I feel like I need my own episode of "Teen Mom". :lmao:

I just bought one today (OK, a BeBand but still) ! My "hidden belly" maternity pants were falling down and sagging so we stopped in Target. I bought one, but I tried it on in the dressing room first. I was afraid it wouldn't be worth the $16 or whatever, but yes, it is!

WDW or BUST: I'm sorry about you having a hard time about the anniversary of your m/c. I had a hard time too.

Oh!! I bought one of the Bright Starts baby loungers in blue... hehe I can't believe we're having a boy. We've both discussed that we wouldn't be suprised if at the 20+ week u/s that we'd be told it was a girl, or go through 2-3 u/s's and be told boy... only to have a girl come out!! :lmao:

Good grief, I have been having Braxton-Hicks like crazy!! I bet I've had 10 today. I know I should be having more, but it still seems like it's nuts. They aren't painful, but can limit my mobility more than it's already limited. My in-laws, who are my primary females to talk to about pregnancy (DH's mom, sister, and brother's wife) are definitely with me that it's late for the baby not to have turned. DH's sister had 3 c-sections through the same practice I'm at because her first was breech. She was told all along he was head down, then 3 days before her due date, she was told breech. She was given the option for external version, but the doctor discouraged it due to concerns about the cord, so I'm feeling pretty negatively towards that, not to mention it is supposed to be tremendously painful. Ugh. An increase in B-H doesn't mean that I'm likely to go early, does it? I'm really hoping that we make it at least close to term. I mean, we're close now, I guess, but I'd rather at least make it to 37. Why am I freaking out tonight?

WDWAurora -- I had TONS of BH w/ DD. For weeks and weeks before I went into real labor (4 days past my EDD). So I wouldn't worry about them making you go early.

I was in a training class a couple of weeks before my due date, and I was having BH contractions about every 10 minutes. The instructor caught me ticking down the times during class and turned green and almost freaked out. It was hilarious.

I'm also having lots of BH contractions already. I asked my doc and he said that was fine as long as they are irregular and painless at this point. I probably have 6-10 per day. I'm not sure about the painless... they usually make me stop what I'm doing for about 5 seconds, or at the very least rub my belly, but I think that's because the muscles on my sides are soooo sore that the tightening just really hurts.

Did you check out the spinning babies website? Maybe just letting your belly hang will help your DS to have the room to turn. And yes, it hurts like heck when they turn, so I can't imagine what it would be like if the doctor/midwife forced it. At least, it hurt a lot when this one turned from transverse to vertical (still can't tell if he's head up or head down).

:scared1: I'm glad I'm not you! LOL I'm just kidding, I think you're going to have so much fun!

...is it fun to lose your sanity? ;)
Just kidding! If I can get through the next few years successfully my biggest concern is then trying to feed two teenage boys! :lmao:

OMG!! You're one brave woman!! Oh and I feel like an old fart at 29! lol

Yeah, I'm not sure what I'm getting myself into... DH is 28, though... so it was sorta a compromise. I had kids younger than desired (I love to travel and really, really, really miss my girlfriend getaway trips :sad1:) but he's still having kids at the *average* age I guess. :confused3 His dad died at 52 so he was a little freaked at waiting a long time and not being around for his kids. So we were in the middle of discussions about the topic when I got the + for DS1.
29 is so not old!!! My mom had me when she was 30!!

Obsession with LOTR?? :lmao: My son is Luke, as I've mentioned before. FWIW, I never would have thought of that from the initials ORK

One of my friends is a high school English teacher so I send all names/initials through her. She started in middle school and says she has enough practice to let us know if a name will be easily made fun of. She gave us the thumbs up on Lucas James and Owen but said not to give him an A middle name. I may have to pass the ORK thing by her. Though, ever since I figured it out I've not been in love with Reid. :headache:

And I TOTALLY think you should make those halloween costumes!! That would be HILARIOUS! :rotfl2:

So in case anyone wants to know...How To Train Your Dragon in 3D is the cutest movie I've seen in years! Adorable. I want to go to a pet store and ask them to order me a dragon. Honestly worth the $12 to see. :3dglasses

Sweet! I want to see it too. Thanks!

Hope everyone is having a happy and food-smell sickness-free Easter!! (lol, eggs do it to me EVERY time, lol.. bad holiday for me!)

I ate WAY too many deviled eggs today!! I was so glad to eat them since I wouldn't eat them at the work party, etc. because I couldn't be sure about the temperature, listeria, etc...BUT...I trust DMiL's kitchen! Yummy.

Well I have another ultrasound today. Although I feel pretty good about this pregnancy I am still really scared. I honestly don't know that I will ever get past that though. I don't think there is anything worse than being all happy (and still suffering from MS) and excited at your first appt when you thought you were 10 weeks pregnant only to discover the baby had stopped growing at 6 weeks. It is really hard not to be scared. Thank goodness at that first appt 11 days ago the doctor found my little blob and his/her heartbeat quickly....I might have passed out if it had taken him very long to find it. I will feel even less anxiety after todays appt though.

Mrs. C: Yeah for a boy! I so want a boy too, but I will be happy for a healthy baby, no matter the sex. I will find out Thursday!

Leger: Welcome and congratulations!

WDWorBust: I hope you feel better after your appointment :)

Hi to everyone else!

Have a great day everyone!

I think you will feel less and less anxious with every u/s. Once you're out of your 1st tri, you'll probably be able to breathe again. I'm finally calming down just about now...lol.

 Let us know how it goes!! 8 weeks is cool, it starts to look like a teeeeny little human

Happy Late Easter everyone. We had our first appt last wednesday. So excited to see the u/s. DH keeps telling the baby to be a boy but i think it's too late to put in the order. :) I've decided that the fridge is evil. Stupid garlic smell. :rotfl:

And then once you get to about 25-26 weeks, you won't be able to breathe again, cuz your baby will be right up in your ribs! lol I'm just kidding. I hope the ultrasound went well :D

Awww I totally kwym. I'm so nervous about this pregnancy since it is my first one and I still haven't even heard what my first beta is yet. Stupid dr's office doesn't have the results yet! :headache: I hope your u/s goes well and that you feel a little more at ease after.

haha that is too funny about your DH. My DH keeps on chanting "boy boy boy" at my belly too. I keep telling him it's a little late for that but he does it anyways LOL
