Holy. Crap. I had to have my Rhogam shot today, and my butt is so sore and swollen from the HUGE and LONG needle! Fear not though ladies, it didn't hurt at the time. I don't know how women who do daily hormone shots can stand it!!! I'm so sore from ONE!

No news about my glucose test yet. It's been two days. I don't know how long it takes to hear from them.

SD - Glad everything went well at your checkup! You must have super Preggo metabolism! You go, girl!

E - Feed that baby! Get some ice cream!!! (And feel free to bring me some! ;)). I can't get enough Fudgecicles tonight! Good thing they are low calorie!

I had to do Progesterone shots for either one or 2 months. My last shot was given to me by both Meg and Mike! Every night after I had them I sat on the heating pad and only recently did the feeling start coming back to my a$$!:rotfl:

No news is good news with regards to the Tolerance test I would suspect. SD would probably know better.

I just told my boss that I was going to bring in Ice cream next week. I am STARVING for it right now. He told me he would bring pickles! Shoot.;) Alls I know is that next Friday I'm going to be eatin a Mickey Bar at this time (fingers crossed!)!!!!!:thumbsup2

Megs: My doc had told me that if my glucose test was off, I would get a phone call in a week. If I heard nothing from them, then everything was OK. :thumbsup2

I never heard from them so all was good. Though at my next regular appointment the OB reviewed it.

ordered the crib/mattress yesterday. yeah!
got the graco lauren deal, got great revies from baby bargains and users.

!

I have my 36 week apt tomorrow morning and I believe will start the once a week deal after that. According to the hospital scales I am up 10 pounds total. :rotfl: I have been eating lots of higher cal stuff since my last apt when I had blood sugar and blood pressure drops. Have not gained an ounce... What is up with this? When I am NOT pregnant just looking at fatty food makes me gain multiple pounds. Pregnant and I can't gain when even when I try. Not that I mind, this is a pleasant problem to have. :goodvibes

I wish I had that problem! I feel like I have gained too much. I carry weight well, so it doesn't look it, but when I sneak a glance on the scale, I know. I am hoping it evens out this summer though, b/c I'll be on break for 2 months, so my vow is to really do some working out...prenatal pilates (already doing this sporadically), indoor walking, swimming, and water aerobics!

Had my 36 week appointment today! All is well. I was a bit nervous about the cervix check, but since I have not had any contractions and am super low risk the OB said she didn't feel it necessary to do one now. She will start at my next appointment. My weight gain total is at 11 pounds. :thumbsup2

I dropped by BRU to pick up a mattress that BIL had gotten for us and will also be headed out to mail of my nephew G's birthday gift. I got him a nice wooden train (kid is obsessed with wheels) and some paint to decorate it. My brother and SIL are super organic types so this seemed like an agreeable gift to them. Though I have learned in the past that no matter how hard I try (or follow their exact requests) I should not expect any sort of thankyou or acknowledgement of the gift.

DH sent me a link to a new childrens book coming out. We have a very twisted sense of humor sometimes and this article just made me laugh hysterically. He heard about the book on NPR and sent me the article, So for those with a slightly twisted sense of humor here is the article:

http://www.npr.org/blogs/thetwo-way...o-sleep-a-salvo-for-tired-parents?sc=fb&cc=fp

I am quite tempted to get the little book when it comes out just for giggles. Not to actually read to her, but to have around for fun.

Hope everyone is doing well!

Yep, I heard about this book. Heard it was hilarious...let us know if you get it!

/
Wow that's great news!:thumbsup2 I can't believe it's 36 weeks! I have to tell you that i looked up the book on Amazon and bought it on the spot!!! AWESOME!! I know Mike will get a kick out of it as well:-)

I can't stop eating today. I may need ice cream soon:rolleyes:

I am definitely about to have some ice cream! With Magic Shell!

Here is my super fast birth story.....Megs I wish I had a secret to share... but I don't! I guess it is my body's way of making up for a VERY hard pregnancy!

Looks like I am the queen on my castle!!!!!

I went in Thurs, May 12 for my last NST. The doctor had already scheduled my
induction the week before for Thurs night into Fri morning as the week before I
was only a fingertip and 'long.' He checked me at my appointment Thurs and I
was still the same, which meant my induction started 8pm Thurs night with
Cytotec rather than Fri morning with just the Pitocin.

I did some running around Thursday, went to TRU to get bike helmets for my big
boys, picked up Shane from K, then went home and rested as I was having
contractions from being checked earlier in the day. Went back to the school
later and got my other son and went home to straighten up a bit. DH had an
appointment with a new doctor that night at 5 so my stepmom was coming over to
watch the boys and deal with getting them to school the next day. After hubby's
appointment we went and picked up dinner at a local Italian place, we are
friends with the owner and she was so happy that my 'last meal as a preggo' was
hers!!! The doctor said to eat 'lite' but to heck with that, who knew how long
I was going to be in labor for the next day!!! We took dinner home and ate as a
family of 4 for the last time. Loaded up the car, took some last min 'preggo'
picts and off we went to the hospital. When we arrived we went up to the mother
baby floor and saw Larry, the male nurse who helped deliver both of our boys.
He was the nurse we happened to get with our 1st, but he was SO GREAT that we
requested him for our 2nd! We jokingly said maybe we'll see you tomorrow!

I thought they would put me right into a labor room...nope; I got the 'bigger'
room in triage!!! Of course there was just a recliner for hubby, which, with 2
herniated discs, would not have been a place for him to sleep so I told him to
stay with me until I got settled then he could go home. They had me hooked up
to a monitor for a bit, and then the resident came in and put in the Cytotec.
About 15 mins later she came in to say that MY doctor ordered cytotec but the
attending on that night (another in the practice) wanted cervedil, so she had to
take out the Cytotec!!!!!!!! She also didn't have the cervedil on the floor as
it had to come from the pharmacy, so she would be back to put it in. By that
time it was around 10 so DH went home to sleep. The resident came in a bit
later and quickly put in the cervedil (which is a long string/ribbon) before she
had to go in to the OR for a C-section. I had to wait about an hour before
getting up to go pee, so about an hour later the nurse came to help me get up
and of course I felt the string falling out...thankfully it was only partially.
So after the section the resident came back to put it back in and the nurse gave
me some Ambien to sleep and started and IV. I then realized that it was Thurs
night and I missed Greys and Private Practice...hopefully it will be on the DVR
when I get home!!!

Thanks to the Ambien, I slept for about 5 hours or so!!! The nurse came in
around 7:30-8 and said MY doctor was there and she was going to ask him if I
could eat something since I really wasn't in 'active labor.' My doctor came in
then and seemed REALLY annoyed that his partner changed what he ordered, but
didn't take it out on me; he just mentioned that he wasn't sure why his
associate did that. A few mins later my nurse came in to tell me she was
getting me b'fast and once I ate she would move me over to a labor room. Around
this time Hubby and my friend, Amanda, came in. I ate my breakfast, if you can
call toast breakfast, and we all walked down the hall to my labor room.

A different resident came in to check me to see if it was time for the Pitocin
and I was 2cm and 60% effaced!!! YAY the cervedil worked! My doctor came in and
said to start the Pitocin. The nurse got everything all ready, hooked it into
my IV, only to find out, my iv site was no good...it had blown! I am not the
best 'stick' so she was really limited on where she could go, so my hand it was.
Hand IVs hurt the worst, as least to me, but I knew she wouldn't have gotten me
anywhere else. The Pitocin was then started at 11am. My mom, stepfather and
brother arrived shortly after, with a Starbucks Chai tea, which was a no-no as
it wasn't a `clear liquid' so we put it into a cup marked water! I was telling
my nurse, Dawn, that I did NOT want a resident breaking my water....only my dr.
I also told her that with my other two, once I hit 6cm things went REALLY FAST.
(With Cody I went from 6 to 10 fast and only pushed for 18 mins, with Shane I
went from 6 to 10 in an hour and pushed 3 times). Within a few minutes my OB
came in and asked if I wanted my water broken, his timing was perfect! He broke
my water but nothing really came out (no big gush like with the boys). He said
the baby's head was down and acting like a cork so he thought it would be a
'slow' trickle. Which was fine by me since that gush always felt gross to me!

The pain was getting worse so I asked for something, they offered stadol or the
epi...I opted for the stadol. Which helped...for maybe half hour or so. They
checked me again around 1:15 and I was 4 to 5 and 100% effaced and I knew it was
time for my epi since 6cm seems to be my 'magic number. By 2pm I had my epi and
was 7cm, feeling much better. The baby nurse came in to get everything ready
for the baby and when she heard how fast I went with the other 2, she decided to
stay in the room and hang out! Smart woman! I asked Randy if we could have one
more. I was starting to get sad that this was the last time we would have this
magical moment, the last time I would feel a baby kick inside me. The nurses
joked that it had to be the 1st time they have EVER had a patient, in active
labor ask that!

Things started to get a little scary here...baby's heart rate started dropping
below 90, so I became a rotisserie chicken...flopping from one side to the
other. I told them I felt pressure so the nurse checked me...I was 10 with just
a little bit of a 'lip' so they called the resident, who checked me again and
said the same thing, who called my doctor who came in and checked me and said
the same thing, but it was time to push and have a baby!!!!! He suited up, put
my legs in the stirrups and we started. Thinking back no one ever 'counted'
they just told me to push and there was no break of pushing in between, I pushed
with the 1st contractions and once it was over the doctor said to keep pushing.
My mom later told me the cord came out with the baby's head, she wasn't sure if
it was around his neck or not and I didn't ask!

Two pushes later, the baby was out..........a boy!!!!!!!!!!!! Randy announced,
"Another *****!!!" They put his grey body on my chest and started rubbing him
to stimulate him; this lil stinker continues to sleep, letting out only a little
whimper here and there. They let him on me while the doctor did what he had to
do to get out the placenta and everything else. He had a HUGE mess to clean
up....my water gushed after the baby came out and I started bleeding a lot. I
overheard the doctor say, "Up with the Pitocin" and someone else ask, "Does she
have a history of postpartum hemorrage? I really wasn't paying much attention
after that, I was staring at the new little person who, like his brothers before
him, would forever hold a piece of my heart.

Casey Joseph Yardumian was born May 13, 2011, at 2:55pm, weighing 7lbs, 7oz and
was 20inches long with a perfect amount of hair.

Of course since I delivered at 2:55, it was 5 minsutes before shift change! My
poor nurse, Dawn, stayed a bit to help get some stuff done and then Larry came
in...he missed the delivery, but he was there to do all the postpartum work!

I had told Randy we were not going to tell anyone the sex of the baby until his
big brothers got here and could know, so I had Randy call my step-mom, who was
picking them up at 3:10 from school, to tell her to bring them up to the
hospital. Cody REALLY wanted a sister, Shane really wanted a brother. I was a
little concerned at how Cody would take the news. They came up and I was
holding Casey. I announced to them, this is your new little brother. If Cody
was really disappointed he hid it pretty well. I was expecting tears or a hissy
fit, all I got was, "Mom, can the next one be a girl?" Don't I wish there would
be one more! They each took turns holding him, as did everyone else.

The next few hours/days were spent getting to know this new little person in our
lives. Randy took the big boys back and forth to the hospital and we had a few
visitors here and there. My postpartum course has been far from easy as I
developed a cyst on my upper inner thigh that lead to an infection and a few
really bad days. The baby was at the doctor Friday and had some jaundice (had
to get his level checked, thankfully it came back better) and he has pink eye!
My mom came to help out with the 3 boys, which really meant taking and picking
up the big boys at school. We did some cleaning and shopping and organizing
which has been a huge help with all the visitors coming over to meet the little
man. Cody and Shane are wonderful with their baby brother…they love to hug and
kiss and hold him. He breastfeeds like a pro, and is coming around on sleeping
(the 1st few nights were pretty rough!)

After a difficult pregnancy, both physically and emotionally I am so happy he is
here and is safe and sound and healthy. I really worried that with all the
issues I had during the pregnancy I wouldn't be attached to this baby, but I am
happy to report that is not the case. I am over the moon in love... with all of
my boys…all 4 of them.

Thanks for posting your story, Starann! What a beautiful experience!

So what did you think of the Cervedil? I have heard it is better than Cytotec?? But what do I know...

Starann what a birth story! God bless ya sister! :goodvibes So glad to hear all is well with you and your boys and looking foward to hearing updates and seeing more pictures:thumbsup2

I have never had an issue with needing it in the past but my understanding is

Cytotec is NOT approved by the FDA for labor induction (or something like that). It is inserted inside and then dissolves (it is a really small pill) and can be put in every 4 hours x 3 doses. Once it dissolves it can not be stopped.

Cervedil is a ribbon that is inserted once and sits in there for about 10 hours. It can be stopped by simply taking the ribbon out. The bad thing I found with it, was that once I got up to go to the bathroom it came out some, but the resident put it right back in. But it really wasn't terrible! It worked, as when I went in I was 1cm, and long.....when it came out I was 2cm and 60% effaced.

Morning Ladies! Well after have a weekend of eating ice cream and sugarfree ice pops I am happy to say that believe it or not my weight gain is appropriate and all is good with my boy and me! Anatomy scan went well thank God and we have 10 fingers and 10 toes and God bless him, his father's nose! :goodvibes There's always plastic surgery! Hehe!:rotfl: Such a relief! We also got clearance for travel on Thursday as I'm still in long and intact!:thumbsup2

This was nice for Mike too. When Meg was born he said he really didn't go to alot of appointments as his X never asked him or told him when he was going. He would just find out after she had had an appointment so he really wasn't as involved. I try to do the opposite, and probably sometimes overly so;), because I think that having him involved helps with bonding. My thought is that we have the advantage because we carry our little boys and girls but our Men don't have that advantage so this way they can be a part of what we are going through. :goodvibes

We went to a store to look at stuff over the weekend. I found a stroller which is like the RR of strollers! Beautiful! Now I know we can't spend a million $$ on a stroller but the demonstration that we got really showed us what we want to make sure we get when we purchase the stroller. :thumbsup2

Hope everyone is well! Next projects are to finally do some laundry, pack and get ready to hit the air for the Magic!!!!!:cool1:

Thank you for the info. Yeh, I have heard that about Cytotec. It is one of the things they use to start a miscarriage when someone experiences a missed miscarriage, as I did in September. I think I was given Misopropal (or something like that) as oppposed to Cytotec but again, they could be one in the same for all I know. If I need something, I think I will request the Cervedil. I hear it is more expensive which is why some docs choose the Cytotec but I don't care. I want whats best for me. Thanks again!

Awesome on the anatomy scan. Mine is this afternoon. Looking forward to finding out how big AJ is! I am the same with my hubby. He is involved in all things (probably more than he wants..lol) and yeh, he has an older son (almost 18) and was in basic training while his ex went through her pregnancy so this is all new to him as well. I think he definitely got bonded to baby when we found out the sex. Yah for a thumbs up for travel!

We went to a store to look at stuff over the weekend. I found a stroller which is like the RR of strollers! Beautiful! Now I know we can't spend a million $$ on a stroller but the demonstration that we got really showed us what we want to make sure we get when we purchase the stroller. :thumbsup2

We registered for a jogging stroller travel system (can't remember if I said that or not). Baby Trend Expedition, I think. It is a little more expensive than a regular travel system but saves us from having to get a jogging stroller later...plus I have heard they are so much easier to maneuver. It has a real (rubber) front wheel..not plastic like most strollers.

Hope everyone is well! Next projects are to finally do some laundry, pack and get ready to hit the air for the Magic!!!!!:cool1:

I am so envious! In my head I am planning AJ's first trip next May/June 2012. Already asked my mom about going, too. :)

HAVE FUN!!!

Ariel - are you guys serious joggers? I really like the look and feel of the baby trend but when I read the reviews from several sites and the baby bargains book, it wasn't all that good for serious joggers. (which I am not, so good for me, but hubby has gotten back in to it.)

Renee! Thinking of you today with your anatomy scan coming up! Let us know how everyone is!:goodvibes

rambling. . .

1. TMI Alert! When you need to poop does anyone else get bad cramps? I swear sometime I'm a little nervous but then I know when I feel the cramps moving a certain way that, yep, i gotta poop. It could be a nothing poop but when it hits:eek::crazy2:

2. Registry/ Shower ~ My mom has desided and spoke to my Godmother who initially brought it up that "she" would rather throw a baby shower AFTER the baby is born. Since that side of the family and friends are in NY it is travel for me and my last plane travel date is July 4th weekend, unless there is some sort of emergency. My mother and Godmother are not the worlds best planners and they are also the BUSIEST women on the face of the earth (at least that's what they tell us:upsidedow) Truth be told, I'm not sure my mom has the bandwith right now to think about a shower. She is very supportive, and a great person, don't get me wrong. Her ability to multi task however is non existant. I'm really not sure if or when a shower is going to happen. As our baby is expected the first week of October and then bam! We hit the holidays. Everyone has families now and lives and football games and holiday shopping. It comes with being older :upsidedow My sister in laws, who live here, have not brought anything up so I have not put anything together as far as a registry goes. In all fairness my SIL's are both moms to teenagers. One has a DD graduating from highschool next week and the other has end of year stuff going on with her 3 kids and she has been working on some family business which will benefit all of us, so they are really busy. My boss' wife is throwing me a shower a work shower and that will be about 8 to 10 girls which will be lovely. I'm excited for that! :goodvibes All this being said, I am thinking that DH and I are going to be on our own getting ready for this little boy coming into our lives. It's just the way it goes when stuff happens late in life and I'm good with it. It was the same with our wedding.:) What I wanted to ask all of you is what are the top 5 things you have put on your registry/or even better what are the top 5 things that you have heard are must haves to be prepared for your new baby? There is so much information out there an it's a bit overwhelming as you all know;) Eventually I will email my mommy girlfriends and ask them too but I want to wait until after school gets out cause everyone is so busy.

And finally, i'm sending my receptionist out for me to get ice cream in a little bit. That's really bad right, it's not gonna stop me, but I know it's bad:rotfl:

depending on where you register - I would put everything you think you will purchase on there...most places will give you a 10-20% off completion coupon!

I was not planning on registering, but will get a $10 coupon just to register and then with the completion bonus, why not??

my friend wants to have a shower for me, but I really feel ackward, this is a third child and I really don't have anyone to invite. Our kids/families are close so she is very excited but this has just been a cray event....I am not even out at work yet, even though I will need to be soon!

Star: awesome to read Casey's birth story!

Ariel: Hope your anatomy scan goes well. Can't wait to hear an update.

E: Hmmmm, top items. Well for us obviously the car seat, the pak-n-play( will use it as a bassinet at first),the stroller..... Other stuff we registered for is a swing (apparently both DH and I were hooked on swings as babies so hopefully Charlie will like it), Most people recommend a Bumbo sitter & a Boppy Pillow. I am not sure what will actually be the most used until she arrives, but that is some of the stuff we felt most necessary.

We had also registered for some safety gates, lots of burp cloths, bibs, blankets, bottles, extra sheets for her crib, and a few simple toys and teethers.

Not much going on today. DH and I are both off today so we made a pilgrimage over to Typhoon Lagoon again. It has become almost a weekly event for us! :rotfl: It is just so nice to get into the wave pool and float around weightless. I duck under the waves, and all is good. Charlie is sitting rather low in my pelvis and is rather uncomfortable when she moves. The water helps my belly not to feel so heavy. We took turns between the wave pool and the lazy river.

Still feeling pretty darn fatigued a lot of the time, but not so bad that I can't get through it. I am trying to decide whether to work up until June 10, or whether to stop on the 3rd and take an extra week to myself. I will see how my apt on the 31st goes and if I am not dilated much and don't look like I will go early than I will work until the 10th. Part of me wants a little time to just relax around the house.... but the other part says an extra paycheck would also be very nice. DH is supportive either way.

Not too much else to report! I pretty much just work and sleep around here!
