Hi everyone. I know, I popped in a few weeks ago, then dissappeared, and now I'm popping back in again. I hope no one minds. I just caught up with all of the pages that I had missed.
I had a wonderful trip to WDW a couple of weeks ago, when I was about 25 weeks. I had been afraid I might not be able to keep up with my usual WDW schedule, but I had no problems at all. In fact, one day we started with early entry at DHS, and hit all four parks ending back at our room at 1:45 AM after the MK closed at 1 AM. I had more energy than everyone else. To top it off, there was unusually hot weather and it was near 100 degrees every day. It was a great trip.
We are having a lot of presumed H1N1 flu around here. Initially we tested a lot of people for the flu, and got a lot of + influenza A's back. Those are all presumed H1N1, since that's really been the only flu strain seen so far this year. Now people aren't really tested since we know it's in the community, it's just assumed if they have the symptoms they have the flu. A lot of pharmacies are running out of tamiflu, so often only the very young, very old, or people with complications/risk factors are being treated, everyone else should just stay home. I got my H1N1 vaccine last week, my OB got some in and I was lucky enough to get one. So I hope I have immunity by now, or at least it's getting there. I know I had a ton of exposures, but I was being very careful and wore a mask a lot when around infected people at work, so I hope I avoided catching it. I chose not to take tamiflu for prophylaxis, I just crossed my fingers for immunity to build up quickly from the vaccine. I just don't like to take medicine unless I absolutely need it. I did get a bit of a cold, but that thankfully seems to have been short lived. I consider myself lucky to have gotten the H1N1 vaccine, especially in my little community. I have a friend in Pittsburgh who is 34 wks pregnant, works in a hospital admitting pts, and had pts with H1N1 in the ICU, and she can't find the vaccine. My husband and mother were able to get the vaccine as well through work.
We had planned to buy baby furniture from one of my husbands co-workers, but now it seems like he's changing his mind about selling it. I don't really care, because now we can just buy whatever we want, but I kind of liked not having to make any decisions. Are there any brands out there that are universally recommened, or ones to avoid? I thought we had most everything already, but now we need a crib, changing table, and possibly dresser and nursing chair. I'm thinking a convertible crib, which wasn't what we had been buying. I'm also thinking cherry.
I'm now 28 weeks, and thankful that everything has been completely normal so far. I have my 1 hr GTT at my next appt in 2 weeks, I was told not to fast, but not to eat anything after I drink the glucose. I usually fast the mornings of my appts, though, b/c I'm so freaked out about seeing my weight go up and up!
