Moms to Be Part 3

I just found this post! (I usually hang out on the BB and Families boards)

I'm FINALLY pregnant after 11 years of on and off fertility treatments - I've never gotten this far, ever! So I'm of course completely stoked!! (Luckily I also haven't gotten too much MS - just nausea every once in a while.)

My EDD is March 14, 2010 (2 days after my Bday) :)

We don't know what we're having yet, and I'm still not sure if I want to find out. DH wanted to know up until he talked with a friend, that said the surprise of NOT knowing is really cool - now he's not sure either.

Here's a picture of our baby (whom we're calling "Nemo" for now), taken my last appointment on 8/20:

After 11 years ......that is sooooooooooooo AWESOME!!!!!!!!!:dance3:
Congrats, you will love this thread and make some good friends to share your journey with. I am still lurking after delivering my DD 8 weeks ago!!:cloud9:

Congrats Karen!! "Nemo" looks adorable already! :goodvibes

We had our 20 week ultrasound today and thankfully everything looks good! Apparently, they wanted me to have a full bladder. Oops! Luckily my doctors appointment was about a half hour before and the nurse mentioned that I didn't have to do a urine sample today since they needed the full bladder for the ultrasound....I guzzled a water bottle in about 3 minutes after she said that, so I was all set by the time the ultrasound started :)

We have to do an echocardiogram ultrasound at 22 weeks based on my husband's family history, but the technician today said from what she could see of the heart, it looked good! So we're feeing more at ease, and will feel even better (hopefully!) once we get echo done.

Karen, that is FABULOUS news! And welcome to the thread!!!!

Cappy, sorry we all lead you wrong!

Had my 34 week check-up today, still can't believe it is getting so close!

No problem! It all worked out and I only had to suffer with a full bladder for about 20 minutes instead of an hour so it was all good!

CONGRATS!!! How very exciting, and welcome to the thread!! Nemo is a cutie!!! Reminds me of my early u/s.

Sorry you had to do the full bladder - I didn't have to. . . BUT glad to hear all looked good. Hopefully you get the same good news at the echo u/s.

Scary close, huh - I'll be 33 weeks tomorrow, have my 34 week appt in a week :scared1: I remember when we were at the VERY BOTTOM of the list. .. crazy, huh?!?!

Yay! Congratulations Karen and welcome! I'm due in March too!

Ok, has anyone had dreams about the gender of their baby? The first one I had was that it was a boy. But I have also had one where it was a girl. DH had one 2 nights ago and he never remembers his dreams and it was a boy. Oh and my mom had one too, that it was a boy!!! :lmao: Have to wait until October to find out for sure, but I'm thinking boy at this point! haha

I had dreams about a little girl - three of them in fact. And we have been told our little one is a little girl :)

So, I put on maternity jeans today. Last week I wore my regular jeans to a baseball game, and they were killing me!!! Today, the maternity jeans feels great....BUT....I have to keep hiking them up!!! They should make adjustible waist maternity jeans, like the jeans they make for kids!!

Oh my gosh! I totally agree with this. My regular jeans are still kind of ok, until I sit down... then kind of squished :lmao: . I bought a pair of maternity jeans with just kind of a stretchy band in the back and they are way more comfortable, but I feel like I have droopy drawers most of the time!

I had lots of dreams that I was having a girl and I was convinced that I was having a girl, Dfiance had one dream that it was a girl and the rest he said were boys....Well turns out he was right cause this one's a little Boy!

Congrats on baby Landon as well!!

I can't believe how close I'm getting to the top!

I bought one pair of pregnancy jeans and I HATE THEM. I think I've only worn them 3 times throughout my whole pregnancy. They are the most uncomfortable jeans ever. And it's because they don't stretch! I've been told that the only one's that seem really comfortable are Motherhood Maternity's with the built in belly band.

I'm exausted today. I think work is finally getting to me (and I'm mostly behind a desk!) and I'm just tired by Thursday/Friday. The local fair is this weekend so we may be heading to that tomorrow. (Fair food! YUM! Cheese on a stick and hand shaken lemonade...)

Anyone catch Project Runway last night? It was a pregancy outfit challenge...

The mother hood jeans with the pantyhose/spandex type top band are my absolute FAVORITE!! However - I find that ANY pair of maternity jeans starts sagging if you walk a lot. . . and I'm 33 weeks now. . . Those bands just don't stay up too well.

I am so with you ladies on the Maternity Jeans issue...I actually got the ones at Motherhood without the built in spandex top because they fit better, but they fall down constantly! And the wierd thing is that they have belt loops...but I have never seen a belt that was made for a pregnant lady!

I am so tired! I guess something I ate last night did not agree with me, and I was up sick all night. In fact, I have all these little red dots on my throat where I guess I popped some blood vessels. It was not fun, and I had to work this morning at my part-time job. Hopefully this was my last shift, but I am on call next Saturday. This was such a long week!

We start our prepared childbirth classes on Tuesday night. Exciting!

A friend visited late last night and dropped off three laundry baskets worth of maternity clothes! :faint: She just finished having her 3rd (and final) child and decided to pass the clothes on to me. With only 2-3 weeks left, I don't ever have to do laundry again. :teeth: Well, at least while pregnant. :rotfl: Some don't fit - I'm debating on putting them up on EBay or just holding on to them for the next time...

Public Service Announcement:

A number of us are getting the same furniture - Baby Cache Heritage from Babies R Us. The day that you bring it home, make sure that you have some extra guys hanging around to get the pieces in the house and to the baby's room.

Yesterday, I brought home the bed, dresser, and armoire and carried them up the stairs and to Sarah's room by myself. The armoire weighs 220 pounds.

Today I am really sore.

WHOA, you did it by yourself? They said that that furniture is the biggest they have (we have it in oak and it took 4 months to get it in.. no kidding- its in high demand). The armoire is huge... you definitely could have used the help!

Curiosity question.....

Did you have the first trimester screening or the AFP screening? I went in for a checkup today (and heard the heartbeat yay!) but they were asking me if I had the first trimester screening or were going to choose to do the AFP. DH and I had decided that we did not want to have the test. I know that there are false positives and I think that it would just freak me out. But the more I was asked today the more I felt that maybe I was doing something wrong and should be doing the test.... sigh... I don't know :confused3
