Alexis Erin was born at 8:36 a.m. yesterday morning (08/04/09).She weighed 7 lbs. and is 19 and 3/4 inches long. All my kids were born with lots of hair, but she has more than any of the rest of them. Nursing is going well when she's awake. Getting her to wake up and eat has been a little more of a challenge. But we've been working on it. Today was better. It's been easy to update FB about her from my cell phone, harder to get a good internet connection here at the hospital.
I'll write up more details about the birth when I get home where I know there is a reliable internet connection, but for now I just wanted to pass the news along to everyone. I'll also upload some pictures. But again, I want to wait until I'm using my home connection that I know will work.

I love your room, my sister in law is pregnant and is due in November and that is their theme and bedding!
I also love that you are just like me and don't know the sex or name of the baby! It is so much fun that way buy boy does it drive people crazy!
it really does bother people! And I don't know why. "Back in the day" our parents never knew what they were having, so why bother?

MelessaG ... Alexis Erin ...August 4th…7 lbs…19.75in!

Adi - I am not having luck uploading from my camera (possibly because I dropped it...) so I took a photo with my phone, that is not that great, but I'm gonna post that anyway in the mean time. Madison wore her shirt to camp and was so excited to show everyone. She also wanted me to ask how you got those butterflies on there. She wasn't satisfied with my answer that you sewed them, I think she thinks you have magical powers. She's also afraid of me washing it, that I'll ruin it. Like I don't do 50 loads of laundry a week!
ETA: I forgot the photo! Ignore the mess of my home, please.

). So, here is how I used my magical powers to get the butterfly's on: The butterfly's are buttons (Shank buttons to be exact, the backs looks like the backs of these buttons: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/5/56/Shank_buttons.jpg - basically they have a teeny ring on the back side). So I just placed them randomly wherever I thought they would look good and then I threaded a needle and sewed them on by hand
(Not sure if that is a good enough explanation - if not, it was my magical powers. . . Hermione Granger has nothing on me
). So glad she likes it!! It will be fine when you wash it - I would take some caution with it - but it wouldn't be the end of the world to sew the buttons back on either (though I tried to get them on there as sturdy as possible).
I am able to sleep again and it feels WONDERFUL!!!! For about the last month, it would take me at least an hour to fall asleep at night, didn't matter if I was a little tired, a lot tired, or somewhere in between. I was also waking up probably 8 - 10 times a night as well!
Something in the last week clicked, and I can now sleep. Oh sleep, how much I missed you, and how much I love you!
I have been having a problem sleeping lately mainly because my nose is almost always stuffed up!
I am a nose breather and am having the hardest time breathing and it is not fun...
Anyone else have this problem?
Have anything that helps? I have been taking Clairitin.

...now I am looking at my one month old princess in her swing and you are soon going to be a Mom.
