Okay, I hate to sound whiny but I need to vent somewhere and I know you all would understand better than anyone. I honestly don't have any other pregnant women to talk to so bear with me :lmao:

I feel like crap lately! I have ZERO energy, I'm sore, crampy, and really irritable. I am on my feet all day and I end up with an aching back and swollen ankles. It's been getting up to 100 degrees here everyday (102 today actually) and the heat is miserable. I don't know how much more I can take :headache: I know I just have a few weeks left but the end feels like it's sooooo far away.

Sorry to unload all that here but I don't really have anywhere else to do it. Thanks for listening! :teeth:

That's exactly how I feel too and one of my closest friends just had a miscarriage, so I don't feel like I can complain to her (or the other two close friends in our circle lest it get back to her) or even whine about it jokingly on Facebook. And while I know on paper I don't have that long to go, 30 days FEELS like forever.

Veronica - After hearing you've been so sick the whole time, I feel guilty complaining! I'm assuming, based on my other kids, that I'll be okay around 18 weeks or so, I can't imagine feeling like this the whole time. 18 weeks seems like ages from now for me (I'm 8.5 weeks, so when I think of doubling this, ugh!), but that is so unfair that you've been that way the whole time. No wonder you have no energy, I wouldn't either. I am exhausted from being up sick every night and I've only been really sick for 3.5 weeks, let alone 30! I hope any future kids you have are a bit easier on you!

Last night was one of the worst so far and my husband just left for another 24 hour shift so I'm alone with my kids tonight and not looking forward to it at all. July is going to be our worst month for awhile, the new residents start today and are not allowed to take any late calls this month and no overnight calls till September, so as a result, my husband (and the other 2nd and 3rd year residents) are working nonstop. We was overnight Sunday, tonight, sort of Friday (technically it's a holiday, but if they get busy, he's gotta go in), and again Sunday. Normally I don't care too much as it's kinda nice to have the remote to myself once a week ;) , but since the crazy month is coinciding with my sickness peak, I'm not too thrilled.

Sorry I have been MIA for the past 2 weeks. It has been crazy around here. First off, my parents stayed with me for a week and this week has just flown by. I can't believe that Natalie is already 2 weeks old. The last time I read a post was way back on page 133. I have a lot of catching up to do...

Just to recap. I had a c-section on June 18th. I checked in to the hospital at 10:00 am. Both my husband and I were pretty nervous. Around 12:20 they wheeled my into the delivery room. They gave me a shot in the lower back. On a scale of 1-10 as far as pain, I would give it a 3. Then my whole lower body went "dead", it was a really wierd feeling. I could feel pressure but nothing else, of course I couldn't move anything. She was delivered at 12:43 and it was the most beautiful cry I ever heard. Within minutes my husband brought her to the nursery while they closed my up. That took about 40 min. I was taken to recovery and my husband and Natalie met me there. We stayed there for almost 3 hours together. Once I could move my legs and feet again, we were brought into my room. The first night there, I had my husband stay with me and the second night, I sent him home.

So she was born on Thursday. By Friday mid morning I was up and in the shower (with help of course). One of the best showers I ever took. I must say, I was glad to off the morphine. It made me itch and hot. On Friday I had to walk the halls 4 times as well. Oh I almost forgot. Thursday night they made me roll onto my side. OMG- that was not fun. So Saturday I was home by noon with my baby. All in all, my recovery has gone really well. I didn't need any pain medication past Wed. night. I only need to motrin now. I have been really blessed. I guess I had been planning for the worst, so I was really happy that it was not as bad as I thought.

The only bummer is my milk never came in.

So long story short, would I have a c-section again... Yes.

Hope everyone is doing well. I am going to try to catch up with everything that has been going on. Hope everyone has a safe and happy 4th of July:woohoo:

Cramps are a sign of progress?? I guess I've been progressing without knowing it then cause I have been cramping a lot in the last couple days. I didn't think it meant anything though cause my dr. said that was normal this late in the pregnancy.

Maggie, love the 4-d picture! He's a real cutie :goodvibes

Well, not really that anything major is happening or anything, but I haven't had ANY signs that she's preparing for delivery, so the cramps were slightly exciting (and irritating).

You have a great excuse for being MIA! I'm so happy that everything seemed to go well for you....did you really have your heart set on bfing?

It's so good to hear from you!

Hi All,

I am a former poster on this thread and also post on the What's for Dinner thread with Ann. Ann's husband called a member from that thread yesterday to let us know that they welcomed Emma into the world yesterday at 3:24pm! Mom and baby are doing well.

I hope Ann does not mind me letting you guys know. I just did not want anyone to worry...I will let Ann share all the other wonderful details with all of you when she gets home from the hospital.

Welcome to the World, Emma! Congrats Ann and Ron!

*ETA*
IF anyone on their search for baby bedding comes across penguin bedding, would you let me know? My friend, that was TTC, told me today she is expecting and I've known forever she wants a penguin nursery... but so far all I can find is over $600!!
TIA.

Target and Babies R Us have this set. It's not all penguins, but has accents of it. It's about the only one out there...I know this because if Isabelle was going to be a boy, DH wanted penguin decor.

bTW, Lucas is so freakin' cute in his little robe that it's not even funny! :lovestruc I could just eat him up!

And while I know on paper I don't have that long to go, 30 days FEELS like forever.

Yes it certainly does! I know it really isn't but with the heat, how big and uncomfortable I feel, and all the other various aches and pains...30 days feels like a lifetime! I'm hoping he comes just a couple weeks early ;)

Please don't feel guilty! Your guilt would make me feel guilty and it's just an endless, vicious cycle :lmao: I have had problems with my digestive system since before I was pregnant and the pregnancy just made it worse. I know it's not the norm to be sick the whole time and I hope yours clears up soon like it did with your other kids!

P.S. I don't plan on having any more kids for a long time after this little guy but when I do decide to have more I hope it's easier too! Cause if I experience the same thing with future baby #2 I will downright refuse to have any more :rotfl:

:wave2: Hi everyone! Back from week 29+ dr's visit. Had the Rhogam shot and it was nothing - just a a shot in the arm. It was easier than last appointments blood draw for the glucose testing. :thumbsup2

I hope everyone is doing well! Sarah - any news on the library front?

Glad you had a good appointment!
Library report: They're going to delay another week. I think it may go to the end of the month before they actually vote on a budget. They are fighting over putting slot machines in race tracks...:sad2: The govenor is saying they could have revenue of 100 million or something, but the republicans control the House and are blocking it. That's what all the press is about...nothing's been said on the library front besides a great deal of both parties saying they support us...but I don't think that will mean much when it comes down to actually balancing the budget.

I'm sorry the Repubs are blocking it (I'm a registered Ind. FWIW), but I do have to say that "could have revenue" is a very operative word about the slot machines at the race tracks. When that and the lottery finally passed here in Oklahoma, it was supposed to do all kinds of things for the state education budget. So far...it hasn't. And this comes from someone who voted in favor of both and buys lottery tickets here and there.

All in all, I know your situation stinks. I resigned from my job in part because of the baby and in part because I knew I would be the first to go at the beginning of our museum's fiscal year (today, in fact). I was there earlier this week and they are hoping to have money to bring me back in a year. (At least I know they like me.)

So, I passed the glucose test! Woohoo!:cool1:

Here is the crazy scary part...

I didn't see my regular doctor because she was gone for the holiday so I go into see the doctor and his nurse was talking about how they will have to do more than the normal finger prick and instead draw blood since I am A negative and will need the Rh shot next week and I was like "huh?":confused3

My doctor had never mentioned this before! So she goes and gets the doctor and he comes in and says "Don't you remember the shot you got at 10 weeks?" I was like "I have never got a shot and I didn't even see the doctor at 10 weeks." He said "Well your chart says you came in here spotting at 10 weeks and they gave you this shot." I have NEVER spotted or anything! So he goes to find someone from my normal doctors office and of course none of them are there because they are all gone for the week!!! So I am stuck to wonder what in the heck is going wrong!!

They went ahead and scheduled me to get the shot for next week! But I am left wondering why my doctor has NEVER mentioned this shot to me and why my chart says all of this stuff that didn't happen! WHAT IS GOING ON?

Wow, that is kind of scary. Sounds like they got your chart mixed up with someone else's, but who knows how long? When my daughter was 9 months old she needed a Hep B vaccine and this ancient nurse came in with the shot and a lab slip to get iron/lead levels tested. Luckily, I read that slip before the nurse did the shot cause it was for the 1yo in the next room and so were all the vaccinations! Sounds like what is going on with you so hopefully they figure it all out. Congrats on the glucose test though!

And congrats Ann on the birth of Emma!! I'll wait to hear your details before I update your status on the list. Can't wait to see some photos too!

Maybe they had your chart mixed up with someone else's??

Do you have RH negative blood?? If ou do then that is why you'll get Rhogam. You get it at 28 weeks and then right after the birth.

Here is some information:

I actually agree with the Republicans on this one. Sounds like there is no plan at all. I am really, really unhappy with the Govenor and sort of glad that the Senate is in control of the Republicans, so that he doesn't just get everything he wants.

The govenor's people had the nerve to say that just because the republican majority leader will not agree to support the plan once his questions are answered that it's a political stunt. What if he doesn't like the answers? It's nuts.

You would think if the chart was someone else's, they could figure it out once you started questioning it.

Both stories are scary!! I'm so glad you caught it!

You got it in the arm too?? LOL I know I can't be the only one to have to have it in the rear-end! And that was no piece of cake-- it burned... burned really bad. And they don't rub your rear end for you to make the burning go away-- lol!

I am so glad it is a 3 day weekend! I can't wait to leave the office this week! It has been cold around 62 - 68) all week, and cloudy! Weekend is looking nice, though. We are headed up north to my parents' cabin for some relaxation. I cannot wait! DS is going up this afternoon with my parents, and I don't know if I will be going up tonight or tomorrow night. I am shooting a scene for a movie tonight, so if it gets done early enough, I will head out. If not, I will head out tomorrow morning.

I got a call from my DH this morning. Now, while I am happy that he made it overseas safely, I WAS NOT HAPPY THAT HE CALLED AT 3:42 a.m.!! He thought where he was it was only 6 hours ahead of us. Nope, it was 8 hours ahead. Oh well, it was good to talk to him for just a bit, but I finally had to tell him I needed to hang up and go back to sleep, although the birds outside my window had something to say about that too!

OMG can we trade places??! :lmao: It's going to get up to 102 today :scared1: I would kill for it to be in the sixties! You are so lucky! Maybe you can bottle up some of that cold weather and send it down my way ;)

Glad you got to talk to your DH even if it was so early in the morning! I'm sure it was good to hear from him even if you were half asleep

I got my first one from the hospital in the bum. . . I'll let you know in 3 weeks where I get the 28 week one. . .

I got a call from my DH this morning.
So glad your DH got there safely!! (Though sorry he woke you!)

Good morning everyone! I am still trying to play catch up here. Sounds like everyone is doing great. I just wanted to say Thanks for all the well wishes:thumbsup2 Everyone who is a first time Mom is really in for a special treat when they hand you your baby. It really is like nothing I have experienced before. Pure magicprincess:

Lets all have a safe and wonderful 4th of July!!! It is going to be flippen HOT here. Not fun, at least I am not a walking oven anymore.

Ohmygosh, thank you so much! I think she'll love it! :goodvibes
The only thing I'm a little iffy on is that bedskirt, but easily replaced with solid black. I mean red velvet, really?? :confused3 But hey, maybe she'll love it! :)

Thanks, he certainly is cute and has me wrapped around his teensy tiny little fingers.
