Hi everyone! You guys are so amazing. I am sorry I didn't post sooner, but I was out with 2 of my daughters at the "So You Think You Can Dance" tour show. We had an absolute blast. It was a great way to end my day.

I did not make it either. I was pretty darn bummed as I was excited to bring the perspective of a large family to the panel. I do think ibeliveindreams has 5 kids too, so us large families will be well represented!

Sitting at the show with my girls really made me feel alright with everything. I put my arm around my DD10 and realized just how little she still is and how much we all have to look forward to. How could I possibly be upset about not making the panel? Don't get me wrong, I am disappointed as I know I didn't do as good as I could have on the phone interview, I was really off my game. But I am excited to have made it this far and I really look forward to future opportunities no matter what they may be!

It really is amazing to have such wonderful people supporting us. I am honored to part of your "family".

Those of you who made it, do keep us posted and have a GREAT time! :)
We wish you all the best!!!!!

Well, I made it in as well.

Yes, Dads were/are allowed on the Panel as well.

The way I see this is that "moms panel" is a generic marketing terminology relating to a focus group that is more family oriented. In my household my wife is a SAHM, but she has plenty of work to do just raising the kids. When it comes to planning vacations, that falls on me. I know I am not alone in this situation, and hope other Disney Dads out there can relate to that.

I'm sure I'll hear lots of silly questions about being a Dad on a Moms Panel, but I'm comfortable with who I am, and I am so very excited to be part of this experience!:cool1:

I am sorry for all of my newest best buddies who didn't make the final cut. We all knew this part wouldn't be fun, but for tonight it is stinging just a bit more than I expected.

:grouphug: (and Kumbaya;) )

-Bret

Kumbaya to you too! This one brought one last tear to my eye. Congrats, I am proud of you Sharkbait!

Way to go Bret, eventhough I never really had any doubts. Your wit is great. Now that you made it I think you have graduated and should no longer be Sharkbait, we will have to come up with another name. My brain is not working yet, I've only had one cup of coffee and the house is quiet (kids still sleeping) so I will have to think about this one.
So how many of you slept last night?
Congrats again guys, I must make lunches before my morning falls apart!

Yesterday I opened my Disney Insider newsletter and began reading the weekly submitted story, "A Parent's Dream Comes True".

I submitted this story months ago and forgot all about it! How fantastic to have my story chosen and published the day the Mom Panel Results were to be announced! I did not make it past round two, but somehow seeing my story published in the Disney Insider newsletter made my heart leap for joy!

During the last month I've been Grand Marshall in the MK parade, a semi-finalist for the Mom Panel, and published in the Disney Insider! Joy, joy and more joy...:cool1:

Congratulations to all those who made it!:thumbsup2

Pixie dust for all those who did not!:wizard:

Good morning everyone! :surfweb:

What an exciting day for our winners! How awesome for them.

I wanted to let everyone know that this has truly been a wonderful journey.

My husband said it is like losing the Superbowl, it is the hardest loss of them all because we were so close, BUT we got to take the journey and we should be proud of how far we made it!

Have a great day everyone, I am off to give another presentation!

Way to go!! I read this because I remember thinking how cool, we are right around the corner from each other. I'm actually in Clear Lake. See what I've been saying all along, we all have no idea what the future may hold. However; I'm still waiting for my good news to come out of all this. Hey, this weekend we are going to a GALA for our girls' school. Maybe I'll win the Lexus!!!

I am so happy for all of you who made it!!! Happy for all who almost made it! And happy for all of us who've had the opportunity to "meet" on this thread!

and to think, it all started with a mouse....

Congrats to all that made it. I am so super excited for all of you. Hope you will be able to share your experiences.

:grouphug: Big hugs to all that didn't make it. You have all been very classy in your loss.

Good morning everyone! I was falling asleep at my computer last night, so I didn't stay up to see who made it, but I have now so...
Congrats to Heather, Erin, Kim, Bret, ibelieveindreams and my3boys :cheer2: :cheer2: :woohoo:
You guys will make a great panel. So far half the panel are DISers, that's so great!

 to Diane, Carolyn, poohmomof5 and The6ofUs- hopefully you all will get to join the panel next time and take a few of us second round winners along too.;)

I hope that you panelist will be able to post here about your journey. I would love to come along for the ride. Have they told you if you will have to keep quiet about everything? If not maybe we could start a new thread, something like Adventures of the "Moms" Panel.:)

Hey guys....sorry for not reporting in earlier, but a lot of you who know me know I am a morning computer guy.

Anyway...I guess you know by now I did not make it. But it is ok. Bret and I were the only two Dads to make it to the final 26 and I am so happy there is at least one male to keep all those women in line...or to be told what to do...you decide.

It has been a tough night, but this morning my 3 year old said, "but Daddy, aren't we going soon to WDW? You can still go and have fun." And did she ever say it right!!!

To all of you I have gotten to know so well over the past month or so, thanks so much for your encouraging words and best wishes. WDW is still the best place in the world, and as I told the other finalists...they had better do a GREAT job as there are a lot of people out here who would love to be in their place...so have fun, WE WILL BE WATCHING!!!!!

Thanks again to all and congrats to the panelists...you guys deserve it so much!!!!

Hi guys...bittersweet, but I didn't make it either. This has been an AMAZING journey!

Thanks again for all the support and encouragement! It was VERY hard to sleep last night and everytime I think about it I get tears in my eyes....but it's amazing how far we made it out of 10,000 people! Keep your chin up! God does Great Things!!!

I just can't imagine how hard it was for the people at WDW to pick and choose between 26 passionate people! Hopefully we'll have another opportunity to show them we can "shine!"

CONGRATULATIONS from all of us. We know you will make us all proud and have a blast.

Marleen and Josh, You guys did great, I know you will be second guessing things the next couple of days. You did your best and you were yourself, that is what matters most. I don't think anyone would want you to change that. Everyone else loves you just the way you are. Like I said before all of this was only a contest and who are we to say just what they were looking for. We all made it pretty darn far, after all they said the first rejection e-mail was sent to over 9k. How amazing is that, not to mention we made some great friends along the way. That alone has been worth it to me!!!!!

Hello Everyone!

Well, Congrats To The Winners! But Aren't We All Winners? This Has Been A Really Great Experience. I Am So Sorry For The Finalists That Didn't Make It. I Have Been Really Thinking A Lot About You This Morning. I Don't Even Know You And You Are In My Thoughts. How Strange But Special This Has All Been. The Superbowl Analogy Was A Very Good One! The Comments About The Video Camera...i Would Have Been All Over That!!!!! I Am Not Camera Shy (nor My Girls!!!!). We Are Quite The Hams! You Know What I Was Hoping...

They Would Take All 26 Finalists, Then Call All The Semi's To Join, Then Have Another Contest For The Wonderful People That Didn't Get To Apply Or Get To The Semi Round! I Thought..hey This Is The Year Of A Million Dreams, Right? This Is Disney! Who Knows What Is Going To Happen In The Future?

I Keep Thinking, This Was "just" A Contest, However I Think I Can Speak For A Lot Of Us, It Was So Much More Than "just A Contest"! This Was Not Just A Contest But A Chance To Have Our Dreams Come True. That Is A Hard Pill To Swallow But We Have To Put It In Perspective. I Am Sure The Disney Folks Had A Hard Time As Well. Knowing They Could Only Pick 12 Probably Made Them Feel Bad As Well!

Anyway, I Am Really Happy For All Of You That Are On The Panel! We Are Proud Of You All! The Finalists & Semi's That Didn't Make It, Be Proud Too!

Best Of Luck To All Of You And Your Families!

Please Keep In Touch! It Would Be A Shame To Lose All Of This!

If anyone hasn't noticed, my computers keys aren't working properly. My 4 year old popped some of the keys off and I don't think things are right!

Here we go...calling DELL!

I am really sad for all of this to end. I really look forward to this thread. It was a very exciting time!

Leslie

Hi everyone from a sometime lurker of this thread and an all the time fan of the boards! :surfweb:

Well, sadly I didn't make it onto the panel! :sad2: After a week's wait, I got my phone call last night with the bad news. They were very nice and very friendly in relaying their decision, and the whole experience was great throughout.

It would have been nice though to have received some sort of consolation prize for all the time us non-winners spent with the earlier 3 rounds - writing, preparing, and stressing! Just some sort of gesture of appreciation would have made the blow a little less painful. I'm glad to have made it as far as I did, and congratulations are certainly due to all the panelists!
