Moms, I need help-getting rid of pacifier!

My kids' dentist suggested cutting the tip off. Trim a tiny bit more each day and they will not want them anymore. Worked for my don when he was 2,

This is what worked for us! My eldest was a bit over 2 and I could see that his "doodoo" was having an effect on his front teeth so it had to go. First - we limited it to naps/night. Then over a few weeks it was trimmed a bit at a time until he finally told me it was yucky/broken and he didn't want it anymore. He never did clue in to the fact I could go buy him a new one - I guess he really only loved that one "doodoo". He loved it as long as he could though - that thing was eventually trimmed down to a little nub that he couldn't hold in his mouth anymore...

We tried cutting it and that did NOT work for us at all. So we took our DD to Target and told her that another baby needed it and we had to leave it by the toys so that the mom could find it. But she could pick out a new toy for being such a big girl. She picked out a tea set. So we were very happy about it. That night she asked for it. We said, "Well, where is it?" Her response was, "at the store for the baby." "What did you get?" "My tea set." And after two nights she never asked for it again. We did this w/ our second DD as well and it worked just as good and she used it all the time.
