Moms - how do you wear your hair to the parks?

We just got back form our Disney vacation last week and it was hot, so either a ponytail or high clip every day. If your hair is short and layered a wide headband would be cute and will keep your hair out of your face. There are so many cute headband styles right now. Love the preppy ribbon ones!

For those of you who wear a ball cap - what do you do about hat head when you take it off to eat? I have long hair (and live in a ponytail - so much so, a lot of people don't recognize me when they see me with my hair down...) I also need bangs and after wearing a hat all day, my bangs are stuck to my head.

Whew... I'm glad I'm not the only one who wondered about this.
I have bra length hair and plan to wear 2 braids or a pony tail and possibly a bucket hat.
akalittleeva Try buying those cute little "jaws" clips and pin your bangs back by twisting them and clipping them back. Then when you take off your hat, you won't have hat bangs.

I usually do a ponytail or a messy bun. My hair is long and really curly, so there isn't much I can do with it anyway!

My hair is almost waist length in long layers. I wear it in a french braid or pulled through a baseball hat in a ponytail.

Not sure where the concept of having a child and the mom having to cut her hair to make it EASIER came from. But I know many women who have done just that. A pony tail is a gazillion times easier than blowdrying and curling hair for a decent short style. (sorry, but I don't consider 3/4 - 1 1/2 inch hair laying flat on your head a 'style' - but that's just me...)

Mine is very stylish and somewhat longer - about six inches on top, but very short (razor short) in the back. A la Keira Knightly with very short hair. And gets that way with almost no effort, not even a binder.

I look lousy with long hair, so I haven't worn in long for a while, but my girlfriends who cut it with kids weren't objecting to the ponytail, but the drying time. One of my girlfriends has hair that takes three hours to airdry - longer in a pony tail (incredible hair, beautiful, think auburn hair - I cry when she cuts it). Since a wet head in the Minnesota winter isn't an option, she needed something that would blowdry faster.

My hair's almost waist long (and I'm tall), all one lenght, and stick straight. I'll blow it dry in the mornings (if I'm going somewhere) and that's it. And I'll tie it back usually later in the day. That's my plan for the parks as well. When we're going to dinner somewhere nicer after being in the parks all day, I'll end up taking a shower and fixing it again, it's fairly quick, I don't take much time on it.

My hair is shoulder length with a perm. I had corn braids done before i went to disney(just the crown area) It was great. It keeped the hair off my face and it was easy to fix everyday. Just wet it, add some mousse and off i went for the day. I actually had a few women come up to me while i was in the parks asking me where I got my hair done. I had to tell them Windsor,ON Canada.

I have gone to Disney while growing out a short haircut. At the time I had mini jaw clips that I used to pull all the hair hack off my face. I also used headbands. I put a little wax in my hair to flip up the back and I was in business. Now that is longer again I either wear a ponytail or I twist it up in a clip.

So, last year, my hair was long, I wore pony tails to the parks. Now my hair is short, takes more drying time, need to flip the bottom up, has layers, etc. Its getting to the point where I either need to cut again, or let it grow out. Our trip is in about 3 months. Any advice? What should I do? I hate to have to mess w/it much while at the parks.

I had what sound like similar cut to this on our first trip to Disney with kids. I tried to pull it half up with a clip but it didn't quite make it. Also 2 small little pony tails could work too. I like my hair a little longer so I can put it in a ponytail in the heat at Disney. IMO I would grow it out. The more layers I have the longer it seems to take to get ready.

How do I wear my hair, that gave me a chuckle too, I don't!! My hair becomes this out of control frizzball. Most likely when I go at the end of this month it will be in ballcaps (I have long hair/layers/flip style too). I have a bit of a wave to it so the humidity just kills it. A straightening iron won't work either. So some sleek/smoothing serum to start the day with the knowledge that a hat will end the day. But I'm at Disney World so how cares!!!!

Omheck! This is ME too!!! I currently have shoulder-length hair right now and it's naturally curly and thin The second I step outside of the hotel in the morning in Disney, my hair has a mind of it's own-any styling I did goes to waste... my hair frizzes up and goes absolutely haywire! My bangs that were straightened curl in all different directions so even if I wear a ponytail, my bangs look quite funky! I'm sure I'll be sporting a Boston Red Sox baseball hat for most of the trip

I'm a big ponytail person in the heat. I have shoulder length hair and it just drives me nuts.

I will also do a bun-type thing on really hot days.....I put it up like I'm putting it in a ponytail, but on the last wrap of the holder, I leave the ends stuck in the ponytail holder. It keeps it up off my neck, doesn't take long, and doesn't need pins.

We're doing MK every morning of our trip (and staying at CR), so I plan on getting up and putting my hair in a pony tail, and possibly wearing my Disney cap too. Then we're leaving MK at lunchtime for a swim at the resort. After swimming, we'll take our showers and then head back to another park. I plan to straighten my hair for the evening.

HATS!!!!!! I had long hair for our last trip and it was always in a pony tail but I ended up buying a hat and it was great b/c it kept the sun out of my eyes, too, and helped with the horrible glare!

I agree that those little clips or a headband would be the way to go if you are growing your hair out. A thick headband would be stylish and hold and short strands down - a thin headband could leave you looking like a mad scientist.

If you don't want hat head, maybe sunglasses or a visor that slides on over your ears would be the way to go.

Ponytail...Hair gets way too crazy in the humidity. Plus who wants to waste valuable park time blowdrying it?!?!? DD wants me to wear it in 2 braids like hers this trip...so if you see an adult with two pigtails...say hi...it's me!!!

My DD always wants my hair to match hers.



Luckily, now my hair is just a little too short to do the two braids anymore, otherwise I would have been right there with you.

Winter - depends... sometimes I wear it down

I have shoulder length hair, so I can go up or down...
