Hi All. I would LOVE your help in planning our Mom's getaway weekend. My best friend and I are visiting WDW from Thursday 9/22-Sunday 9/25. We arrive at 10:30 AM on Thursday and depart on Sunday at 6:30 PM. We want to make the most of our trip and welcome your suggestions. We are staying at the Pop Century have bought a 2 day one day pass with free dining of course.

Which Parks would you do? Attractions? :confused3

Would you upgarde to a Park Hopper to get more in? Would you buy a third day or do Downtown Disney and tour other resorts. :hyper2:

Which restaurants would you eat at? We have no kids, but still love those character meals. Yes, we probably love Disney more than our children :-)
:disrocks:
Here is our tentative plan:

Arrive on Thursday, check-in and head over to the Coronado Springs Resort to walk around and have lunch at the Pepper market... Dinner at Ohana's.

Friday, MGM--lunch at the Back Lot Express and Dinner at Holywood and Vine. Planning to stay for fantasmic. On Saturday, we are palnning to do Epcot. Maybe do luch at the Spoodles Pizza window on the Boardwalk, return to Epcot for awhile then go to Chef Mickey's for Dinner. Return for Fireworks.

Sunday, very open. maybe have Tonga Toast at Kona Cafe and a nice walk at Downtown Disney.

How does that sound to you Disney veterans. We are open to comments & suggestions. Still contemplating the park Hopper to be able to do MK.

i would definetly eat at epcot world showcase over chefs mickey any day especially since you have the free dining. there are so many choices at world showcase our favorites are le cellier in canada filet mignon w/ white truffle potatoes or salmon along with their canadian bacon cheddar soup, yum. alfredos in italy homemade fetticine alfredo & nice wine list, marrakesh in morocco skewers & bellydancers for entertainment, le bistro de paris upscale 2nd floor restaurant with prime rib & quiche, crepes, yum. san angel inn on the river of time inside the plaza fajitas & margharitas. germany's biergarten buffet, china's ninedragon's with classic chinese food, japan's live cooking at teppanyaki.

also try to fit in a morning at the spa maybe sunday, either the grand floridian or saratoga springs, the massages are fabolous & relaxing as are the facials, manicures/pedicures.

since youre only there 4 days i would stick to your current tickets because if you add park hopper you might be rushed or want to do more, relax & enjoy your childless trip with a friend at wdw. have fun!

I would do a 3 day MYW ticket and add the hopper option.
Even if you don't add the hopper option....go with a 3 day ticket.

You are arriving early enough to do a whole day at MK! :goodvibes
Look at the scheduled hours, MK closes at 8. Stay for Wishes...then head to Ohanas at about 8:45 for a late dinner. Or you can plan Ohanas at 7 and watch Wishes from the beach.
Either way.....IMHO.....you can't go to WDW and not do MK :goodvibes

Friday looks good..... Must see Fantasmic!

For Saturday.... plan the whole day at Epcot! There are tons of great places to eat! I would pick any of them over Chef Mickeys!!! If you want to do a character meal.... do Garden Grill at Epcot. Or the Princess one in Norway.

If you want to spend some time at the Boardwalk....I would do that Sunday.... Do lunch there and then go to Downtown Disney for a couple hours in the afternoon before leaving.

Hope this helps! :goodvibes

Thanks for the tips. I'll share them with my friend and see what we come up with. I would love to do le Cellier or San Angel Inn, but I'm not sure my friend's very sensitive stomache could handle it. I'll have her check the menus.

I get so excited just thinking we are going in about one month. :cool1:

I would definitely do a 3-day MYW ticket, you have a whole afternoon on Thurs. for a park! Have a great trip, whatever you decide! :goodvibes

I'm with the others! 3 Days and eating in Epcot. I appreciate your love of Mickey though so I say go for Chef Mickey's the first night if you want. My mother is doing something similar and she is eating at Cinderella's for dinner. I don't think a year from now you'd regret adding a day to your ticket. If you need to you can curb the spending you might have done at DD to make up for it. They have pretty and inexpensive jewelry in Mexico. For less than $10 you can have a very nice memory of your trip! ::MickeyMo

I just did a girls trip in June with one of my best friends (and going back in Sept with a bunch of others--there are 9 of us!).
I do think you should get a park hopper. It came in handy in June and will in Sept as well. Its makes it so much easier to pop to another park for a meal or if the one you are at is a little crowded.
In Sept our group got the free dining so we are trying some new places as well as some old favorites. We are hitting Prime Time and Ohana--repeats but also trying Le Cellier and Yachstman. Im so looking forward to the new places and going a little more upscale.

Have a great trip!

I second and third the suggestions about getting a three day hopper pass. For a Mom's weekend, you'll want your freedom to change your mind!

For eating at Epcot, I am a picky eater and Le Cellier is one of my favorites. I also enjoy the Rose and Crown. They have cottage pie which is burger and mashed potatoes. Check out that menu as well. I wouldn't recommend San Angel Inn - it's *very* authentic Mexican. Nice atmosphere but not for the sensitive types.

Yeah! What great feedback. You all have us thinking.

This is our first moms weekend away. I couldn't think of a better place to go and a better person to do it with than my best friend..who loves Disney just as much as me. We have both been to WDW this past year and both will be travelling to WDW with our families again later this year. This feels like a dream come true. Noone to take care of...just ourselves. Oh the places we can go, oh the things that we can see!

I have two sons 7 & 10 yrs old and she has 3 girls 5,8, & 10 years old. People think we are crazy for going to Disney without our kids. So many people I have talked to say they just can't do it, They feel too guilty. Not me!!! I am ready to indulge myself and have some great FUN!!! princess:

Thanks to all. Here is a great big hug for you! :grouphug:

I think any time moms go away there will be a tad bit of guilt anyway--it just goes with the territory. I did feel bad going without my kids but we have our family vacation in Oct so they will be going then. My friend and I still had a great time--it was her first time. So it was easier without kids to hit the stuff I knew she would love. We stayed up late, got up early and generally had a blast.
You girls will have a wonderful time.

You have inspired me and I applaud you for taking time for yourself!!!
Us "moms" just don't seem to be able to do that very often!!
I have desperately wanted to be able to do what you are doing....but I would have to be alone. By 2 best friends just don't seem to "get it" when it comes to Disney. :confused3
But this past June it was a "girls only" trip....just me and 14 yr old DD.
2 years ago it was me and both DD, they were 12 & 26 at the time.
Those were the 2 best vacations I've ever had!!!!

For next year.... looks like we will be bringing all the boys along :rotfl: DH DSiL, and 2 grandsons!! :grouphug:
