We have special plans (really special, dad is flying in to surprise her!) for dinner so we want to have a nice, pleasant lunch as well.

I have PS at both Cinderella's (of course lunch is without characters) and Tony's (with characters!).

My husband and I ate at Tony's in May and found it to be a nice place to relax for lunch. Of course, it wasn't the Pooh character lunch then either!! I figured the characters might be nice since it is her birthday!

We have never been to Cinderella's and I'm sure she will be treated like a "queen" since it is her birthday.

Any suggestions on which one to go with?

I ate lunch at Cinderella's for my birthday. I had originally wanted to eat at Tony's because I love Lady and the Tramp but changed my mind when I found out it was with characters.
I really enjoyed eating in the castle.
We asked for a window table when we got there and it was only about another 10 minute wait. Well worth it.

Thanks Disnygrl!

Do you recall if you enjoyed the menu? I've seen it on Deb's site, but I'm not familiar with it at all. Oh, I hope we can get a window seat as well, and I hope they will make a little "fuss" over her birthday. I just want it to be a super special day for her!!

If you decide on Tony's remember the parade passes by it. If you do a late lunch and request a porch seat, you have a wonderful view of it. We ate inside with a 2:30 PS then went out to the porch to watch it.

Your welcome trampslady,
I had the Grilled Salmon sandwich with sweet potato chips.
I can't remember what the others in my party had. I think one had a large salad and the other had some kind of chicken dish. I know we all enjoyed our meals. I believe the specialty of the house is prime rib, but I am not a red meat eater so I didn't try it.
Also we never mentioned my birthday but I am sure if you mentioned your mom's they would make a little fuss. The people next to us were on their honeymoon and I noticed the waitress was extra attentive with them.
Have a great time!!

I've had breakfast at Tony's (before it was a character meal) and I've had breakfast AND dinner at the castle. I personally recommend the castle for lunch for you and your parents. It's so much fun just being in the castle, and the restaurant itself is really nice. The waiters and waitresses refer to you as "m'lord" or "m'lady". If you let them know it's your mom's birthday, they will decorate the table with Mickey confetti, and give her a special ice cream sundae with a chocolate crown, complimentary. (You might want to ask if they still do this, we were there in May 2001, and I would not want to give out info that was no longer accurate!).

Regardless, I still suggest the castle, for ANY meal! :) My only exception would be if your mom was a HUGE fan of the characters that appear at Tony's.

P.S. I have some pictures of the Mickey confetti and sundae on my web site. Click on the "family vacations" link below, then follow the links to "May 2001" then "Restaurants", then to Cindy's for dinner! :)

I would vote for Cinderella's just because it is in the castle. Ask to be seated by a window!

Thanks everyone! I think the castle will be perfect for her birthday!

Now, I'm just hoping a little pixie dust will move all the clouds out and we can have a rain-free holiday next week!

Thanks again!
