Mom's At It Again! ***Updated 4/30/2009~Trip Report Link**

Woo Hoo! Yeah for the good news!

I enjoyed your DS's PTR updates! Very cute!

I loved hearing from the boys. That is a first for me on a trip report. Way to think outside the box.:goodvibes

Isaiah,

My favorite park is AK too. The decorations are so neat!! There aren't a lot of us who think that it is the best one. Hey, don't tell my DD13 that you are allowed to have a rootbeet float for breakfast. I'll never hear the end of it.

Jonah,

I love the coasters too. When I saw Fantasmic for the first time, I didn't know what to say. I was in awe!!!!

PS I like your friend in the picture.

Mom,
You have some great kids. Keep up the good work.

Can't wait to hear from son #3.

Dear Mommytothreeboys,

Thanks so much for posting in my trip report. It pales in comparison to yours. The next thing I have to try out is putting photos and icons up in my post, but I did figure out how to get my countdown clock working.

Since I read your pre-trip report I have some faces to go with names-so since we are both at POR the same week, hopefully we will bump into eachother and say hi.

I am now to the point where I am sleeping with Birbaum's Official Guide under my pillow. Is it too late for me? Am I already addicted?

This is a little bit :offtopic: but I was wondering about the LGMH thing. Is it a way DISers recognize each other? Is it only for special occasions? Should I make one for myself?

Love to hear good news. :goodvibes

Yay! It's always good to hear good news!

Thanks everyone! That news definitely took some of the pressure off! ;)

Thank you so much! They really are great kids if I do say so myself! :)

About the root beer float thing....believe me, ONLY AT DISNEY!! :goodvibes

Fantasmic was the first Disney experience the boys had as we went to DHS our first night in Orlando just to see it. It really left an impression and had the perfect "wow" factor to introduce them to Disney!

Son #3 is dragging his feet. He's busy, busy, busy....but I'm still going to try to get his 2cent's worth at some point!

Since I read your pre-trip report I have some faces to go with names-so since we are both at POR the same week, hopefully we will bump into eachother and say hi.

That would definitely be cool! Post a pic so I have a face to look for! :thumbsup2

I'd say you're pretty far gone!

It's just a way for DISers to recognize each other in the parks. I didn't have one last trip and I don't really remember seeing any, but I'm going to make one this time as I KNOW that some of you will be there the same time as we are. :cool1:

Well the title says it all! I don't have a whole lot to update, but it's been a few days and I wanted to post. So....for what it's worth, here it is!

TO-DO LIST
For a girl who lives life by a list, I'm ashamed to admit this one. I was reading a fellow DISer's PTR (thanks mousescrapper!) and she had posted pics of her BINDER! Most of what she had in hers I also had in mine except for one thing....a to-do list!! How on earth did I miss that?? :confused3 So of course, I now have a TO-DO LIST in the front of my beloved Disney Binder. :goodvibes

A few things I still need to check off:

**Make arrangements for Daisy. Daisy is our 7 year old black lab. I have yet to introduce her formally so here's a pic.

DSCF3932.jpg

She's a good dog for the most part but having to find someone to stay with her or putting her in a kennel when we go away is really a pain. We have a kennel we like, but I really don't like to put her there for several reasons....one, it's expensive....two, she needs new shots if I want to board her this year....three, I just feel bad for her! :sad1: So....options to boarding her? We have a 21 year old nephew who lives with his fiancee in his parent's house. It's a nice option for them to be able to stay here while we are away and take care of the dog. Only drawback...they are very busy with school and work and who knows what their schedule looks like. They are our first choice, so keep your fingers crossed that they can do it. pixiedust:

**Call about building request at POR and give Disney our DME flight info. I have delegated this job to DH. Only because I have made all the other calls to Disney and it's his turn. ::yes:: Now, with his track record for nothing being really urgent, not sure when this call will get made. I may break down and do it myself! :rolleyes2

**Purchase any clothing items. I have to do a bathing suit check for the boys. I think they may need to have new ones this year. I also like to buy a few new t-shirts and flip-flops for myself with gift cards I get for my b-day. I think DS11 may need new sneakers and sandals as well.

New Additions to the Disney Box

I have added a few things to the Disney Box. First, my Bagallini that I purchased for my Las Vegas trip last spring. I purchased it with every intention of using it on this Disney trip. It needs to be washed, but it's in the box for now so I know where to find it! Second, the boys' pin lanyards. I found them in their rooms and brought them down to put in the box. (Dan did not get a Disney lanyard last trip because I had purchased him a Pirates one before we left. It is definitely not the same quality as the others and he'll probably get a new lanyard on this trip.) Third, The light-up toys we bought on our last trip. These are still in great shape and will travel with us to save us from buying new ones! Finally, the boys' Pressed Penny albums. These are not yet full and the boys LOVE to do the pressed pennies in the parks.

To Surprise or Not To Surprise?

I know this is a little random, but I've been watching some "Surprise we're going to Disney" videos on YouTube and they are SO GREAT!! I'm wondering if my kids are missing out cause I don't do the whole surprise thing? Honestly, I know that they are not missing out, but it's definitely a thought. The surprised looks and tears and excited reactions are so fun! ::yes:: I know it would be nearly impossible for me to pull off a surprise like that....if you have been with me since post #1 you know I don't keep secrets well! :sad2:

What are your thoughts on the whole surprise issue? I love that my kids can be in on all the anticipation with me! But...I think it would be fun to be able to surprise them as well. Hmmm...something to think about!

The Countdown!

For our last trip, I made a simple countdown chain for the boys. They each wrote Disney character's names on construction paper and I assembled them into a chain. It was so fun to pull a link off each night and to watch the chain get shorter! :hyper: This time I have been debating what to do. I think I have decided to stick with the chain over the calendar. Instead of character names, I think I am going to put Disney Trivia questions on each link. We have three Disney Scene-It games and the boys love to play those so I think they will like this idea. I will post a pic of my new countdown chain once I make it, but here's a pic of our last one!

If your kids are anything like mine, they would figure out something was up and bug me until I tell them. Kids are so smart. Also DH would never go for the surprise thing. He hates surprises.

I am envious of those that pull it off though. I'm just not sure it is worth the work. I know many will disagree.

Love the new pics.

i've thought about the same thing...my boys know we're going...and i'm glad that we all get to experience the excitement together. but i've been reading posts where they totally surprise their kids/DH/loved ones, and it sounds like a whole new different fun. but i don't think i can totally keep it a surprise...i'd be too excited to keep it all to myself, i'd burst!! but it would be fun to see how my DSs would react when presented w/"we're going to wdw"...as we're headed to the airport. or something like that. but i know it is too late for us for that...:flower:

My Birthday!! :bday: Unfortunately not in Walt Disney World for free but happily at home with my wonderful family! pixiedust:

My DH is currently in the kitchen making his famous French Onion Soup to be followed by sirloin steaks and twice baked potatoes. What a good guy!

I did get a Disney gift for my b-day, but it doesn't arrive till next week...I'll post pics then!

I'm enjoying this last birthday in my 30's!! :cheer2:

:bday:

Can't wait to see your Disney gift!

We did a surprise trip once - it was our first trip as DVC members and we drove - we would be gone about 3 31/2 weeks. We told DSis we were going to Wildwood - she was in 5th grade and it was summer so we knew we wouldn't be able to sneak the packing thing in. I was in on the surpise being the big sister - not sure why myparents didn't suprise both of us, though! We told her the morning of with a sign we taped to the window of the car "WDW or bust!" She was quite confused and kept asking if we were serious. I don't think she really believed us until we were officially out of NJ.

happy b-lated birthday!! party:

did you get to pick your own disney b-day gift? wonder what it is...:flower:

I did pick it actually! I had to send my DH the website and the coupon code! Hopefully the package will come today! :rolleyes1

Is that what I think it is??? ;)

LOL! No, unfortunately....although I did send him that link as well! ::yes:: He chose to go with the other idea I gave him. I'm still planning on buying the item you are referring to though....just waiting for some more birthday money to trickle in!! :goodvibes :goodvibes

Just found your TR and finished reading...all in one sitting!! Looks like we will be just missing each other. We arrive at POFQ on April 28th!
I too have a "Binder" and my DH thinks I am completely nuts. I may have to show him your posts to show him that it IS normal and that I am in good company!!:dance3:

Hi there and :welcome: ! Wow...you read the WHOLE report?? Nice! :thumbsup2 That's a lot of mindless rambling to get through in one sitting! LOL!

I routinely let my DH read other posts on this board so he KNOWS I'm not the only one with OPD.....Obsessive Planning Disorder! Truly, your DH will be thankful for all the hard work you put in planning your vacation when you have the time of your life! :love2:
