Mom's At It Again! ***Updated 4/30/2009~Trip Report Link**

I have only just started reading your PTR just now, and I already can't wait to read your Completed TR! The thing I like best about your report is the way everything is laid out and ORGANIZED :thumbsup2 LOVE it. How could you not read something like that? Awesome job and keep the writing coming

Disney Sorry is so cute! I'd totally want to be the villains.:rotfl:

Sounds like you guys could use some family together time away from kid activities. I can relate.:sad2:

Can't wait to hear about Morocco night. popcorn::

On a selfish note. I have really enjoyed your PTR. How will I find your TR when you get back? Will you have a link here?? I can't wait to hear about your trip.

Also, I just read elsewhere that you can only get one Kimmunicator per family. Could you check on this for me?? Thanks.:wizard:

My husband and I love playing Sorry...although we just have classic Sorry! Disney Sorry looks very cute! Can't wait to see the pics of Morocco night!

It's a very flimsy game...the board is heavy cardstock and so are the pieces, but it's fun anyway!!

5 more days for you!!! :cool1::cool1::cool1:

I'll dance to that! :banana::banana:

Enjoy your special dinner tonight and can't wait to see pictures! :cool1:

Thanks...we did and it was fun! I'll post pics tomorrow!

We SO need some family time that does not involve interruptions to run this one to practice or to pick that one up from....whatever! It's exhausting sometimes...ok, all the time! I am so looking forward to chillin' together and just enjoying each other's company.

OOO! Disney Sorry looks neat. I may hav e to pick one up.

You are getting so close!

I know!!! SO EXCITING!! :dance3:

Disney Sorry looks like fun! I can't wait to hear about Morocco Day!

We had a lot of fun tonight! I took some food pics and also pictures of the boys helping me cook and making their Morocco projects. I'll post tomorrow!

I have been looking forward to this day of our "10 Days till Disney" celebration. My family LOVES the World Showcase! The love affair started on my honeymoon when my DH ran around getting his passport stamped in every country and it continued when we introduced our boys to the wonder of the WS in 2007. Morocco is my personal favorite pavilion in the whole WS so I decided to have a Morocco night as one of our celebrations in our 10 day countdown.

First, I looked up recipes online for baklava (YUM) and a Moroccan chicken that I thought would be fun to make and my family would enjoy. I used the following two recipes.

Tangy Moroccan Chicken

Baklava

Overall, my boys are fairly adventurous eaters. I cook a variety of foods and love to try new recipes and they pretty much eat what I put in front of them. At least they try...it's not always their favorite, but they do tend to try a lot of new things on a regular basis. This chicken recipe was no exception. I told them that they just needed to be willing to try it and they all did!

Here's the scorecard: Dan liked both the couscous and the chicken. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 Isaiah tried both and ate most of the chicken but did not enjoy the couscous. :thumbsup2 Jonah did not like either. (insert two thumbs down smiley) Jeff LOVED both. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 I really enjoyed the chicken, but am not a fan of couscous. (Never have been, but I tried it again anyway!) :thumbsup2

EVERYONE LOVED THE BAKLAVA! It wasn't nearly as hard to make as I believed it to be and I won't hesitate to make it again. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Here are a few pics of our Moroccan dinner.

Next we moved on to our Moroccan mosaic projects. I went online and found pictures of beautiful Moroccan tile mosaics and printed them out as examples. Then we made our own versions with squares of paper and glue. This was SO much fun and even my DS14 enjoyed it! Here are pictures of our craft time and finished masterpieces!

Ready to get started!

To finish the night, I printed a Moroccan Folk Tale and read it to the boys.

The Girl Who Lived With Gazelles

We had an AWESOME night of celebration and now we are down to only 4 days!! WOO-HOO!!!

What a fun night Missy. :goodvibes We will sometimes pick a country and make a meal and do activities and books about it. It's a great family activity. :thumbsup2

That baklava looks soooooooooooooo good!

I love couscous, but only when I add sauteed onions, mushrooms, chicken, parmesan cheese, and salt.

Awesome Morrocan night!!!!!! You are so creative, my brain stuggles to think like that.
I cannot believe you are down to only four days til Disney World:cool1:

And great job to the boys for trying out new food like that, my girls would look at me like, "and what would you like me to do with that":lmao: No Lizzie would try anything but not the others.

What a fun night! The baklava does look delicious. Yummy.

Did you cut your tiles out of posterboard? I love the mosaic craft idea. Not that I want to steal it or anything..:rolleyes1

Unfortunately, I do NOT have adventurous eaters. My oldest will try anything and enjoys things like sushi, but the other two..sigh. I however think the chicken looks yummy too.

It really was a lot of fun! I will probably do it again sometime with a different country...some night when we are stuck in and bored!

LOL! My kids do turn their noses up at some things...tomatoes in particular! Go figure!

I used scrapbooking cardstock to cut the squares. It's nice and heavy but not as hard to cut as posterboard! And I have plenty in the house!

Wow.....sushi! In my opinion that is VERY adventurous! :rotfl:

What a fun night. The baklava looks so good. We leave early Fri morning and I am so excited. I don't think I will make it on here tomorrow so have a nice trip and can't wait to hear all about it.

Yea, she'll try anything and has a pretty open palate. My other two are the ones that give me fits. One doesn't want to eat anything "mixed" and the other won't even eat pizza!:scared1:

Too funny! I have one who gags at the sight or smell of KETCHUP!! Go figure! :confused3

wow I got way behind....I'm sorry.

Love all the celebration days. That certiantly look like they are getting you in the mood.

When I was scrolling (msp?) thru, Mae saw the picture of the sorry game...and asked "Why are they playing our game?" :rotfl:

The moroccan festival looked great. I will have to try that baklava...YUMMY!!!!!!

your list looks great too. I can't belive you only have a few days left till you leave.

J-

Wow - your Moroccan Day looks like so much fun. It's so great that even Dan participates!

Yahoo for 4 Days!! :cheer2: :rockband::dancer::rockband::dancer::rockband: :cheer2:

Just found your PTR it took me 2 hours :surfweb: to catch up. I love all your planning. As I sit here reading your PTR I am thinking I should be cleaning house or packing for our tirp :rotfl:. We will be down there the at the same time. Staying at :cool1: SSR for the first time and can't wait to see the resort. We are also leaving on the 28th on SWA to go back home .

What?

You're going to Disney World in three days!!!:banana::banana:

Your Morocco day looked great--just think, next week, you'll be IN Morocco:thumbsup2 (or at least Disney Morocco).

I seriously like the mosiac idea. As a chef, I have decided I like cous cous better, cold as a salad with tomatoes and herbs and lemon/olive oil added. The hot version does not thrill me unless it is loaded with other stuff. Your chicken looked very yummy though, and I'm glad your family at least tried it.

See you real soon!

So I just finished reading, what a great set of pictures! Your boys look like fine young men! I had a heart attack thinking that one day my guys are going to look that old and we hopefully will still be going to Disney too! I was so happy to see that they were getting into the Disney Days fun! I always worry that suddenly they won't want to do stuff like that because it isn't "boyish" enough!! ALSO are you just jumping on the bed about your trip!!!!!! :yay::yay: I can't stand it! How fun for you! I hope all your final preparations are in order! Looking forward to the final hours countdown!
