Mountain Dew with caffeine!? Everytime I head to the states I just have to have one of those! Up here in The Great White North our "clear" soda is not "allowed" to have caffeine in it! Only Dark soda has the jumpies!

Christmas Surprise...

So I spent alot of secret time on the dis researching for our trip, hiding my ticker as much as possible. DD loves all the tickers and smilies, so while I dis she likes to hang over my shoulder to see the pics and emoticons!
She never questioned me reading Disney Planning Books, as I said I will read anything Disney I can get my hands on!

So for Christmas I decided the best way to announce the trip was balloons! I had a Balloon Time helium tank from DDs birthday and thought that will easily blow up few balloons to pop out of a box. December 24th I go to inflate the tinkerbell balloons I had bought – I was successful with 2 balloons which quickly wilted... maybe it was because DH kept inhaling the helium!
So off he went to save the day. He purchased a variety of star shaped balloons in bright Disney colours.

I attached a card to the balloons announcing “Guess Who’s Going to Disney”. We tried the opening of the box to see if the balloons popped out over and over... it was going to work. So I wrapped it all up and we were set.
Christmas Day DD knew that big box with Tink all over had to be opened last. The balloons popped out of the box perfectly and it took DD a few seconds to understand what it was about, and then the tears started. She sat on my lap and cuddled with me extremely happy about such a great gift.
I am the photographer in the family and for this moment I refused to experience it behind the lens. I am glad I did even if there are no pictures to show for it.
I was so happy the secret was out and DD and I can talk about our must do’s, must eats, and park plans!

We had a month left and I was satisfied with my ADR’s, my plans and my shopping!

As I started to collect all my “lists” together for the trip, about 10 days out, I decided some of my ADRs seemed slightly insane! Our departure flight was leaving MCO at 11:00 pm, and I had an early morning ressie for breakfast – what was I thinking – hello Late check out??? So I hopped online and committed the dissers cardinal sin, made double bookings for ADRs, all the times I wanted were available 10 Days out – Woot! Things were looking up!

I forgot to mention as well, a month or so after I booked my pool view room I found out on the resort boards that the Uzima Pool at Jambo House was under refurb, so my lush water view that I paid for was going to be of fencing. Should I upgrade to savannah? Should I downgrade to Standard view? Now the photos I had seen of the savannah did not impress me. Some of you may know my education is in zoology and I have worked in a world class zoo, seeing the chain link fence in my “mock” savannah really bothered me, this is why I did not originally book it. I preferred the pool view, palm trees, water, and relaxation.

The dissers that reported this were DVC owners and had received a letter that we Jambo lodgers could use the DVC pool at Kidani Village. I never received such letter, I had seen the reports on the refurb lists of other websites, BUT Disney’s own website never posted this refurb that I could find.

I chose to gamble and deal with it upon check in...
So with the surprise revealed, my cardinal sin of double bookings made, and my gambling spirit throwing caution to the wind regarding my room request, we waited for January 23rd 3 am when we were to head out to the airport!

Well I guess I didn’t wait twiddling my thumbs, I spent alot of time online here and working on my trip journal, that ended up being over 150 pages! But that is a whole other obsession thread that I care not to start.
